We visited as part of a bus tour. The reception dealt with the coach influx quickly and proficiently and the staff was very helpful. The room was quite comfortable, but the bed was a bit on the soft side for us. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There are soap dispensers in the bathroom by the sink and bath. We asked for a slip mat, which was quickly supplied. Breakfast - fantastic choice of breads, croissants, danish pastries, fresh and tinned fruit, cheeses, yoghurt, some salad and help yourself hot/cold drinks. There were hot options, the bacon can only be dscribed on all three occasions as very well done - crisp. Evening meal - horrendous. We were sat for a half hour before being offered a soup. It was a further half hour before it was cleared and we were invited to help ourselves to the main meal which was take it or leave it. The amount was what they thought would be sufficient for the whole coach, it wasn't. the desert was vailla sauce with berry fruits. It was custard with a spoonful of defrosted berry fruit for the whole coach tohelp themselves from. The majority of the coach visitors ate out the following night in disgust. The third night we at in with the same routine. The main was a pan of cooked chicken pieces about 3" x 2" for the whole coach in a cream sauce. The desert was apple streudel which was obviously frozen and cooked accompaniedwith the vanilla custard. My piece of steudel was still frozen on the outside despite being very brown on the outside. It was replaced without question. We felt sorry for the staff. We tried to purchase a meal off the menu on the night of arrival(no meal supplied on the arrival night) because of our late arrival. We were told by a member of staff not take any food orders from anyone in the coach party!!!!!!!!!! Apart from B&B I would not recommend staying here.

We would like to apologise for the quality and organisation of the group dinners during your stay. It is clear from your feedback that the evening meals did not meet your expectations in terms of variety, quantity and overall experience. This is certainly not the impression we want our guests to take away, and we are very sorry that this negatively impacted your stay. Regarding the first evening, the group arrived very late, and it had been communicated in advance to the tour operator that no dinner could be offered on the arrival day. However, we fully understand that many guests still hoped to receive a meal after a long journey. Unfortunately, with only one staff member scheduled at the bar that evening, it was not operationally possible to prepare or take food orders for a group of this size. We regret that the communication of this came across as unwelcoming or abrupt and apologise sincerely for this experience. For the following evenings, dinner service was arranged and staffing was increased to three team members to accommodate the group. Nevertheless, we regret that the meals provided did not meet your expectations in terms of quality and presentation. Your detailed comments regarding the dishes and service are taken very seriously and will be reviewed internally to help us improve our group catering standards going forward. Thank you again for your open feedback. It is invaluable in helping us identify where we need to improve, especially for group stays. Good location, comfortable room, very quiet

I only stayed here for one night. It was a good location, ten minutes easy walk from the railway station. Very nice room, no noise, a good buffet breakfast. On a hot day I appreciated the water available in the reception.

Inefficient check-in, otherwise OK

I didn't get off to a great start at this hotel. They seemed to be having a problem with not one, but both of their card machines at reception, so it took ages to pay for my room. Eventually we managed by the receptionist doing a manual over-ride and getting me to sign for the transaction (nothing wrong with my card, it worked fine everywhere else before and after this hotel on my trip). But apart from that, I have no complaints. The room, as your would expect for a hotel in this price range, is not the greatest luxury, but it is clean, adequate, and everything works. Breakfast was similarly perfectly good for a hotel of this class. I stayed here to break a long train journey, and the location was good for that, only about a 5 minute walk from the station.

Overpriced and issues

Friendly and clean hotel. Very comfy beds. Pillows a bit hard. One towel was dirty and it took 20mins and 2 calls for someone to come to change it. Despite Gold status they wanted 4,50 Euro for a water bottle! Sweets in the reception area for free. Beautiful Christmas tree. Sights within walking distance. Train station 5mins away. But 169 Euro for one night (Saturday-Sunday) are too much for an Ibis and should include the breakfast. But the breakfast here costs 15 Euro extra per person.

The most unwelcoming unhelpful Ibis ever. Check in we were kept waiting. Then the room had faulty lighting. Just a miserable team. Room poky Cleaning adequate but no more than that. Rooms on 4th floor small. Aachen is a lovely city. Well worth a visit.
