Stayed for 1 night with work. This is my first stay at the Novotel in York. It’s easy to park your own car on site ( which is good in York). The hotel was clean and the room was a good size. The bedroom was spacious with a work area, large bed and a settee. The bathroom had a spacious walk in shower, where you could choose either overhead or moveable front facing settings. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast offered a variety of choice and team members were really helpful. The hotel is located approximately 10 minutes walk into the City Centre.

Festive trip to York

Visited York to go to Christmas Markets and Castle Museum- a festive trip! We chose the Novotel as it was close to the centre of York, and we have stayed before. The staff were very efficient and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable. My fiancée loves a bath, so she was happy that the room had one! Had a great sleep in a comfortable, large bed, which is rare for me in a hotel Breakfast was OK, plenty of choice but the bacon was a little grey. However, the abundant availability of Yorkshire Tea made up for it! The hotel's festive decorations looked great and set the scene for us perfectly Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the pool, so we will have to come back!

Had a staff party here for the first time and what an outstanding venue the place was, beautiful decor atmosphere was amazing and food was warming for everyone. It not easy pulling that off for around 40 guests but it was an unforgettable time

Rooms are good. Fairly close to the centre of York. Large tv. Breakfast has been good every time I’ve been here. My main problem was I ordered the soup and the bread was rock hard. I mean so hard that I couldn’t physically tear it apart. Surely they could have fresh bread delivered daily ?

Entrance/ bar v welcoming- the same can’t be said for the staff. Swimming pool full of kids - perhaps kids times - so stayed about 15 minutes; room was basic - single toilet with no fan (!) sofa bed didn’t have a mattress topper and the sheet was “knotted” to fit……
