Pleasantly surprised.. Yes the rooms are maybe a little outdated but it’s just wood furniture, it’s clean, clean white bedding. No different to other 3/4 star hotels. Does what it says on the tin, had good pillows, hairdryer, kettle and a good selection of teas/coffees etc. Bathroom I was quite worried about when I seen it was a green sink! It was plastic, the floor is like a wood effect, shower is big but it was super clean. Better than having dirt in grout in tiles like many other hotels! Had toiletries, body wash/conditioning shampoo. Didn’t book breakfast initially as I’m usually disappointed, hate cheap sausages etc but we did end up paying for breakfast and it was actually really nice. Had a good selection, hot buffet, hash browns were cooked to perfection, sausages were big not cheap ones. Different pastries to choose from, cereals, yoghurts/yoghurts with fresh fruit and granola etc. fruit juices, tea/coffee machines. Even had a Nutella machine, acacia honey, a machine to boil your own eggs. Many different condiments/cheese/ham etc. A very wide variety to suit everyone from what initially appeared to be quite small. For a 3 star hotel I think it was great in terms of the little added extras. Would definitely stay again and would recommend

The only reason I gave a poor review is because while checking in I had to wait for one of the staff to check me in as one of the staff thats outside was too busy scrubbing his filthy jacket in the bar area I know I’ve checked in quite late at around 9pm but I feel like its disgusting. Surely there is a health and safety concern over this. Thankfully after few mins of waiting and getting ignored by this staff that one of the staff checked me in. Overall nice experience good facility.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfasts were good (no fried bread though!) and the one evening meal that we had was good, too. The only criticism that I have is that both lifts had insufficient lighting in them. There were notices on the lift walls and it was impossible to read them because of the lack of lighting. There was a CCTV camera in each lift but how could they capture any pictures of wrongdoing (if any)? Oh, yes. On Saturdays and Sundays, fried eggs were not available and meat and two vegetables dinners were not available. The bedroom was very good and had such a comfortable bed. We would go again if the need should arise.

My third stay here and very satisfactory once again. Room very clean and views of other towers going up transforming the look of this great city. Bathroom well stocked and big enough. Staff very pleasant. Chambermaids say hello and hold doors open for oldies like me. Bed modern and comfortable and TV worked without any hitch. Location is good with art galleries, library, major shops and station all within 15 minutes walk.
