Great location, just know the entrance is NOT where shown on some GPS, it's closer to the train station than my GPS showed, not down and around the corner. I stayed there twice - one night before and after my art retreat. Both rooms were small but clean, quiet, safe. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Breakfast was really nice and well-worth the extra charge.

Our experience was so bad, and our complaint handled so badly by Accor, that we're never staying in any of their hotels again. Personally, my recomendation is to give this hotel a wide berth, and avoid. Sure its convenient for the station but that appears to be its only plus point. Our problems started by not being able to get into the actual hotel as the door was locked @ 5pm in the afternoon and nobody was answering! Why was the the door locked you may ask, well, I can only surmise from our experiences of walking around the vicinity for 30-40 mins looking for an alternative entrance to get in, (there wasn't one) the overall area had a run down vibe with quite a few people who looked sketchy, sad to say we didn't feel particularly safe. We eventually headed back to the original entrance, which for the record looked pretty dingy and more like the entrance to a homeless hostel. At this point when we rang the bell, we were able to get in. Explained situation to Reception, but fell on deaf ears, and no apology. Asked to see the room first due to other reviews on Tripadvisor but was refused, and at this point I asked to cancel, but instead of cancelling they checked us in, so we couldn't then cancel and get a refund. (FYI, the booking had only been made less than an hour beforehand) Have since written a few complant mails to Accor, but haven't got anywhere so not the type of company I ever want to do business with again.

A comfortable Ibis hotel located right by the bus and railway station, opposite the city walls. Convenient for transport options for visiting the region and only about a 20 minute slow meander from the Papal Palace, cathedral and other sights of the city. The room was small, bur comfortable, quiet and with an excellent view across to the old walls. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and even let me check in really early. Breakfast selection was good and fresh.

Situated right next door to Avignon train station and opposite the main gates in to the city, this turned out to be a nice stop over for a couple of nights. Main entrance was not obvious due to building work outside the train station and is actually up some stairs or a lift but I found it by walking up the car ramp into the car park . Rooms small but comfy and just across the road in to the walled city. Actually had dinner as part of our package which wasn't the greatest but our hostess, Karima, due to language barrier tried her best to get things right for us which she did.
