A comfy base for a business trip to Paris

Very little to complain about this hotel. Pros - Excellent location close to Anvers and Pigalle Metro so easy to get around - Restaurants close by - Room was small but very comfortable with big TV - would be quite small for more than 1 person but it was fine for me as solo traveller. - Excellent bathroom - recently refurbished - my room was at the back of he hotel so very quiet. I can imagine the front rooms would be noisier. - WiFi worked well - Room well maintained by housekeeping - breakfast was adequate - good choice but quite expensive. Cons - Not much - was unable to watch the football as Canal Plus was not available on the TV - was difficult to do any work because the room had no desk/chair Big sideboard but would be better as a desk.

We stayed at Mercure Butte Montmartre from 6th to the 8th December 2025 We were welcomed by 2 staff on arrival who did not even say hello, they were busy with the Internet not working etc We went to our Room and it was freezing at 12 degrees and heating not working The lady on Reception that we spoke to when we realised that the heating was not working in the room told us that she is only an ‘ interimaire’ which is French for Locum staff and seemed really overwhelmed by something like the heating not working etc It’s a very basic thing having your heating in the room working in December and this should have been checked before we arrived especially as we paid 400€ for 2 nights… you would expect at least a decent service from Mercure which prides itself as a good standard Hotel brand which is why we chose it It took a while for this issue to be sorted and we left for dinner well after 7pm … Mercure tried to brush away my complaint as a non issue but for us it was a big deal especially as it was not handled properly in the first place. We had to insist and left to wait for at least 40 minutes before Reception came to the room to check that the heating was not working, in all this time we had to have our winter jackets on as it was freezing The Front Office Manager attempted to talk to us the next day . No attempt was made whatsoever. The only thing we found on arrival was a hand written note from the Hotel saying how delighted they are to welcome us and how we should contact Mercure if something was wrong We did try to contact Mercure and Accor Group but we ended up at a call center in the Philippines with poor English and without a basic understanding on how a complaint should be handled We basically were not allowed to complain, this is why we went to Google and posted a review This has highlighted to us a lot of issues and lack of customer service training at Mercure Paris Butte Montmartre and more generally at Accor Group

Happy Hotel felt like Home

We stayed at this hotel for almost 3 weeks and felt like family by the end of the stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, apart from the grumpy guy that does the graveyard shift, and we really enjoyed watching and listening to the staff interact when we were sitting in the reception/dining area. It’s apparent they really like each other and all get on. We especially liked Abou who always had a smile on his face and was keen to chat with us. They all have excellent English skills. The twin rooms were small so we upgraded to rooms with queen beds which were much better. Some rooms don’t have proper hanging facilities - ie wardrobe - so make sure you request a room that does if you’re staying longer than a few days. Only one room, the accessible room, has a fridge. The rooms were very clean and funkily decorated, and the location is unbeatable. Very close to multiple metros and surrounded by fantastic bars/restaurants/night life. Upper rooms racing street have great view of Eiffel Tower. We loved our stay and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Made our stay in Paris unforgettable! 5 🌟’s

Location fine. Breakfast great. Room was tiny (really tiny, could barely get around the huge bed), with big tv. Bathroom was great. I had closets and wall hooks - some rooms, my friends reported, had no such things. Coffee and tea in the room was nice. Second floor street side is not quiet but the street view was interesting. Ask for a room higher up! Envious of the Eiffel Tower view others had!! Staff were very nice and courteous. Their English is SO much better than my French!

The basic amenities of a 4 star hotel are not provided here!

This is place does not provide the bare basic amenities of a 4 star hotel & is definitely not worth the almost €200 per night that they charge. I checked before arrival that there were tea making facilities in the room as that is important to me & I was told that there was. When I requested some teabags I was told very rudely by an employee called George that there are none & they can do nothing to help. I have never been spoken to so rudely by a hotel employee. They deliver far, far less than the minimum. There are so many 4 star hotels in Paris that provide the expected experience. Avoid this place like the plague!
