This is not one of the better Mercure hotels I was staying at. But the price per night should tell you that at the time of the booking. Pros: very good location, next to Av. Paulista. A lot of rooms (if not any) have the balconies. Housekeeping is great - the room was squeaky clean. Small kitchenette in my room was very useful. WIFI was OK. Cons: the hotel needs some updates. I was quite shocked to find out, that my bedroom window doesn't have the full glass. Part of the window was a strange tin sun shade (which didn't save me from the outside sounds in the night). AC was only installed in the bedroom and not in the living room. Verdict: if you are trying to save money, then this is a good option. But if you are looking for a comfort, look somewhere else.

Old building

I spent a night in this hotel. Positive thing: great location very near to Av. Paulista. The building is old. The corridors have moquette. The breakfast is bad, free choices and any attention for vegans (no soy or lactose free milk). One of the worst breakfast I had. One guy at reception speaks English but in general not the other staff. Quite nice pool at last floor and small gym. The sauna is a very old small stream bath. The rooms are renovated (not the doors) and are ok (this is the positive thing of the stay), but the bathrooms are still old. In the bathroom there is not the shampoo and the shower bath, but but only shampoo and conditioning in dispenser (it seems usual in Brazil as I found the same in other hotels).

Room was nice, quirky layout but clean with everything needed. Bathroom felt dated in comparison to the room. Lobby is nice but the lifts and corridors feel old and a bit dingey. The staff were a bit rude, not friendly and seemed more like you were a hassle to them than trying to help. Chose this one over other hotels as had rooftop pool but this was a bit run down and could do with a revamp. Overall good location but probably better hotels for similar price.

Bad hotel in good location

A bad hotel in a good location. More an Ibis budget than a Mercure. Poorly maintained, indifferent staff, basic breakfast, poor internet, small and slow elevators, worn out furniture. Best rooms are called “prestige” and have odd layout.
