Dirtiest room I've ever stayed in

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel this week. Previous Novotel's have been good, but I will never stay at this one again. When I arrived and sat at the desk to work, I felt stickiness under my arm. The desk had old sticky drink marks and splashes all over it. When I went to bed later that night, I noticed both bedside tables were covered in the same marks. So dirty, there was no clean space for my glasses and phone. The walls were filthy too and I have no idea what it was. In the morning, I mentioned it to reception and asked it be cleaned while I was out. When I got back in the evening, unbelievably, nothing had been cleaned!

Stayed for one night on business. Room was clean enough, but the shower drain was blocked and overflowed within five minutes. The toilet is also oddly placed in what feels like a cupboard, which makes the room layout a bit strange. On the plus side, I appreciated having an iron and ironing board in the room. Breakfast was actually good and much better than some of the recent reviews suggest. Bar prices, however, are ridiculous - a can of water, a J20 and a chocolate bar came to £10. I worked in the bar area for around three hours during the day of arrival, and the only table that had been used when I turned up still hadn’t been cleared by the time I left. I was the only person in the bar, so there’s really no excuse for that level of basic service being ignored. Overall, the stay was fine, but a few easy fixes would make a big difference.

Arrived at 4pm had twice in queue as both times they. Handed out room and both times the rooms was not made and dirty from the previous people staying. Would never attend again

The location is convenient for the M6, warm welcome from the receptionist and all the staff were friendly. Our room was clean and had everything you needed for a single night stay, those are the positives, in the bathroom there is a warning sign to lay the bath mat for your safety, no bath mat supplied so was extremely slippery once I had conditioned my hair (not an issue for everyone I understand) the evening meal was underwhelming, I chose the scrampi, 6 pieces of very small, overcooked scampi arrived with a handful of chips and poor excuse of a side salad, the tartare sauce arrived in a jug! Tartare sauce doesn’t poor, trust me, I tried! Breakfast had its highs and lows, great selection of juices and alternative milks, however, the hash browns were dripping in fat and overcooked, eggs were solid and the coffee from the machine has to be experienced to truly understand how bad it tastes.

El hotel está parcialmente renovado, el ascensor necesita URGENTEMENTE una renovación porque parece que ni se mueva y hace un ruido que da miedo... El baño de la habitación es nuevo pero no hay ni un solo enchufe para el secador de pelo por ejemplo y el suelo de la ducha es algo resbaladizo.La persona que me atendió a la llegada no diré que fuera antipático ni desagradable pero no fue nada cordial, muy serio para ser la 1era persona que te encuentras al llegar al hotel

Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback. The lift will be renovated in due course but for now the whole hotel has just been completed and we are very happy with the product. The hair dryers are situated near the mirror outside of your room as we would not expect people to use them in the bathrooms.
