Great hotel to stop off at if travelling to south of France

We were a family of four with two children under ten travelling to and from the south of France. This is a lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is perfectly situated as an overnight stop off. The pool and terrace are an added bonus. It is also situated right by a lake and has walks and a great children’s play park. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh taste food. We also had dinner there which was equally as tasty. We will be staying again. Thank you

Extremely rude and aggressive manager and owner

Extremely disappointed. The staff whose name was "Audrey" made our check-in a terribly unpleasant experience. (Turned out she’s the manager and owner…) First she asked for our names. She didn't find it in her system and got a little unpleasant while we did’nt know which name we booked in....she asked for first name but it turned out she was looking for our last name. No big deal we thought but she was angry already at this moment. Maybe she should know how their system works. In the booking, we had written 2 adults, 2 children (6 and 8 years old), and added in a comment to the hotel that we also have an infant with us for whom we would like a baby crib. Got an email from the hotel confirming that it is okay, that they will set up a baby crib in the room. But when Audrey's sees our baby, she rolls her eyes and says "you're 5 persons it’s not possible, you can't stay here" we try to resolve the situation but unfortunately she doesn't want to help and is extremely unpleasant and rude. Almost screams and finally tells me to shut up. Never experienced similar treatment.... When we then ask if we can cancel the accommodation, which she refuses and say: you have to cancel the day before..,even though we completed the booking 2 hours ago. We call hotels.com customer service for help, he also talks to her but she refuses to be helpful. In the end, we are then forced to book an extra double room for SEK 1,869 so that our infant can stay at the property. A room we didn’t even use. The Audrey in question went and hid in the office. Feeling completely unwelcome, telling your guest to "shut up" and her standing there sneering is unacceptable. There were lots of ways she could have resolved the situation, talk calmly, be nice, suggest another solution. Instead, she just said that "we refuse to pay back". She wanted me to leave the hotel without the money back. I am completely boiling with rage. When I tried to get in contact with the owner/manager (turned out she is) she replied to me with a very condescending email in which she lies and says that I, among other things, screamed, that she has everything on film and feels sorry for my children. My children were only afraid of her rude behavior. She wasn’t only angry and rude to us, heard her arguing, scold, and look angry at the staff as well. They didn’t look happy around her. Please do yourself a favor and don't book this hotel!!

Very poor stay

Stayed May 20th, hotel was deserted. It was a French holiday which we were unaware. Male receptionist not at all welcoming. Informed us restaurant was closed, no prior notification even though booked through the Accor website. Informed us we could eat at a local restaurant, when asked us if he could book us a table, he stated he had never been asked to make a booking before, gave us the telephone number. Took the rickety lift up to our room. The corridor was dingy.in need of refurbishment. Entering our room through a very squeaky door as was the toilet door. On showering the shower came away from the wall. Breakfast was OK not up to Novotel standard. A few days ago we had stayed at the Novotel Tinqueux, reception there was helpful booked us a taxi and helped with luggage etc. Room in good state decoration, had an excellent stay. On our way home stayed at B&B Dardilly, was also very very welcoming good service, was a former Novotel. These were an example how guests should be treated. Usually booking through the companies website you receive an e-mail enquiring about your stay. I received no such communication concerning our stay at Novotel Limoges. It is a shame the standard has dropped as our previous visit had been enjoyable with helpful receptionists & staff.

Have stayed at this hotel en route to the south coast before so was a little concerned when I read some of the recent reviews. I needn't have worried though. Our room on floor 2 was fresh and recently refurbished. We enjoyed a meal in the evening and a very good breakfast with lots of choice. The evening menu isn't vast and at the end of the day it's a chain hotel so I don't expect gourmet but we had a lovely time and a very good bottle of wine. The staff were very friendly and appreciate a few words of French, however rubbish you are - but they spoke a little English too so we managed to communicate just fine. The pool was closed when we were there as it had just been treated with chemicals but it was spotlessly clean and looked inviting. We enjoyed a cocktail on the terrace overlooking the lake. Can recommend a trot around the lake while you're there. Will definitely return.

A central location is claimed; it wasn’t. The room safe didn’t work. The refrigerator didn’t either. The toilet room (separate from the rest of the bath) had a splatter on the wall, perhaps from an unfortunate event of indeterminate origin. The carpet was dirty. Staffing was minimal. I would consider other options.
