After paying over $1000 for this 3-night stay in a five-star resort was disappointing to say the least.

I will start with a positive. I provide a 10/10 rating applied to Movenpick staff providing services including kitchen, pool, spa, cleaning, maintenance and room service facilities. They were all very hospitable and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them and their friendly smiles and service promote the values and standards we expected from a five-star resort. The female staff on reception were also operating to the same standards. All other staff were poor and, in my opinion, should not be allowed to operate, client/customer facing in the hospitality industry. Unfortunately, as a paying guest at a five-star resort this is where the positives end. The facilities in room 105: - - Kitchen taps inoperable - Leaking toilet facilities - 2 inoperable telephones - Inoperable air conditioning - Filthy Balcony and terraced hammock area (bird droppings and general dust) All the above should be picked up by regular maintenance and service inspections of rooms prior to accommodating guests. It should not take a guest to point this out in any hotel regardless of star rating. The corkage charge for bringing food and drinks into the hotel: - - Vigorous searching at security is the initial greeting when you arrive at the hotel and each time you return. Similar to an airport security experience. - Your price for a 330ml can of beer at 8 JOD may explain why people bring in their own beverages. - Your reception staff asking for money before we get into the lift and return to our room. The entire process is flawed, stressful and completely unnecessary. I have never experienced this at any other five-star facility worldwide. We were not able to use any of the room service facilities due to the inoperable and out of date telephone system as I previously mentioned. This makes a further mockery of your corkage charge and meet and greet experience. The entourage at our room door: - - Apparently after receiving complaints regarding the level of volume from our music, during the afternoon, it was deemed necessary by you to send 3 men to our door to resolve the matter on more than one occasion. Similar to the airport security experience mentioned earlier, slightly intimidating and aggressive. - Thankfully we brought a tin can speaker with us as there was no other entertainment provided at your facility. - The complaints were made by a family accommodated next door to us with a young family and very needy children which were equally as noisy. - Maybe a suggestion for the future would be to read your guests and their requirements. Taking all of the above into account we will not be staying at this facility again unless the hotel undergoes some major changes which can be demonstrated. We travel once a month to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordania, in particular Aqaba, for the purpose of rest and recreation away from our work life in Saudi Arabia. We will do so in future at facilities worthy of the five-star rating. Please pass the positives onto the staff aforementioned as they deserve a lot of credit for their service whilst I imagine being some of the lowest earners in this facility.

Nice stay and great staffs

My room was one bedroom with a lot of spaces and mini kitchen. The bed was comfortable, but the room seemed a bit outdated with a lot of falling tiles in the bathroom and old walk-in closet, which I didn’t use. However, the staffs were very nice and full of hospitality which I was so happy. For example, when I was looking for the hotel, I was totally lost on the street, but a gentleman approached me and assisted me taking to the hotel. He turned out to be a manager of the hotel. Also, the staffs at the restaurant were very attentive. Overall, I’m glad to stay here and would like to come back.
