Overall nice place to stay. Pools very cold. Facilities otherwise would be lovely. Room was tired and not the cleanest. Housekeeping only happened once in our 5 day stay. Tv would Only work on Fox sport. We came away with bites which we have put down to bed bugs. Emailed the hotel over re the bed bugs but have not heard back from them, not surprising as we emailed about three times before our stay inquiring about shuttle service from airport but did not get a reply either. This accommodation could be fantastic with a little more care. Will probably not consider staying again and certainly not the standard one would expect from Luxury Escapes.

As a first time stay in Kingscliff, we chose Peppers due to their previous faultless experience at other properties they operate. This sadly was not up to their usual standard.. We had a plunge pool one bedroom apartment that was well appointed however the balcony and the pool area was unkept. The apartment felt tired… the bed was comfortable as was the bathroom facilities… The dining area, Seasons was utilised as our breakfasts were included. What a debacle this experience is! Long queues, inadequate catering, untrained staff. When I commented I was advised there was a large conference in and they had been hit with everyone arriving together… not well organised.. I then discovered that the Restaurant is catering for both Mantra & Peppers as the Mantra dining area is closed… this is a totally unacceptable solution, for starters, there is not enough room for both hotels to seat or feed that amount of people!! Finally, the staff were clearly under pressure and that resulted in less than friendly interactions. I would suggest Management take a good look at the operations of this hotel… Unfortunately i cannot recommend the property due to this experience.

Tired room no upgrade and no Foxtel

Upon arrival, as a GOLD status member, we sat in the chairs in the Priority check-in area for while before we were told that current staff "aren't servicing that area" and we have to come around to the normal check-in desk. We were also told that a room upgrade was not possible. We did receive 3 small 40g muesli bars as a welcome gift, we weren't informed about how to obtain our welcome drinks. Upon arrival in the room we noted the a/c was without it's covering filter / blades and there was mould on the bottom of the blackout blinds ( I have picture of both). I wanted to watch the ANZAC day football and the horse racing on Saturday - However I got to do neither. The Foxtel unit was not working. I rang recp'n and housekeeping but non-one answered either so I left an automated request for a call back - which never came from either station. So back down to recp'n no less than three times to be told there was no engineer working that day and we pressed that we couldn't be moved to another suite with a working TV and A/C unit as the "it was a full house". They said they would leave a message for the engineer to attend our room the next day- which never happened in any of the next 4 days. Someone I assume from F&B came up twice to attempt to fix it but couldn't. We wanted to forget the TV and have a drink on the patio and called housekeeping for a bucket of ice. We told it couldn't be delivered to our room and we'd have to attend the bar and request same. So back down to recp'n / bar area, however they had no ice buckets left - " Would a plastic bag do ? " was the only alternative offered. At this point we left the hotel for a local bar. Meaning loss of F & B revenue for Accor over the next 3 days. The Gym is a broom closet in the underground car park with only 1 piece of equipment with weights - thus causing a bottle neck when we attended on day 2. On the second day upon requesting if it's possible to have our welcome drinks at the pool bar we were told "it's on the app." but only 1 drink. This would have been handy to know before then and a request for a late checkout was meet with just a 1 hr extension, which we never used. in Summary the room was tired the Foxtel didn't work and the whole hotel was understaffed for a Public Holiday / full house scenario. This lack of attention to detail and planning is not what we have come to expect with Accor. The only upside in a 4 day stay was that we meet some wonderful "locals" at the offsite bar and own a meat tray ! ( which I also have a picture of )
