Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Booked 2 connecting rooms for my family. Great size rooms and big balcony. Hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much for them. Lahcen in particular made the stay even more memorable. Always made sure we had the best experience the hotel had to offer. Will be back again soon.

The staff were extremely gracious and attentive! In particular, the housekeeping and laundry team were amazing (thank you Nowal, Samira, Karim, and Fatima)! I relied on the laundry service as I didn't check a bag and was attending a conference. Everything came out beautifully. Freshly stocked water and coffee were much appreciated. The drivers who took us around town were very helpful, first rate, and on time. Recommend using them whenever possible. Recommend getting the hotel to pick you up at the airport. Speaking of airports, BUY THE FAST TRACK SERVICE TO GET THROUGH CUSTOMS. Google it. Pay in advance. Otherwise at peak periods you will wait for two hours in line. Like I did. The food at the restaurants was high quality. I especially liked the Marcelona Spanish-Moroccan restaurant. Service is on local time, so North Americans are advised to nudge the wait staff along with moving the orders through and getting the check. (This is true of all of Marrakech, not just this hotel.) One point for improvement for the menus: make hummus available on the lunch menu, the dinner menu, at the buffet, and the room service menu. I love to snack on it at home. It's in all the grocery stores at home. I suspect North American people who want to travel to Marrakech do too. But at Movenpick, it's impossible to get: if you miss it at lunch, you will never enjoy it. So please make it available all the time. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Well presented hotel, which lacks the 5 star sparkle with poor and slow service

As a couple we spent 5 days in the hotel and in the most part had a pleasant experience, but the poor service in both the bar and restaurant had a negative impact on our holiday. Check in was seamless, albeit a little slow filling in endless bits of paperwork. That said we managed to get into our room a little early and stayed in the Zidane block on the 3rd Floor. The room was well presented, but maybe lacked the extras you would expect from a true 5 star hotel. For example there was no complementary shower gel or flannels. The room was however clean and tidy. We visited the Breakfast buffet each day, which offered a wide selection dishes to cover all tastes at breakfast. It’s very much self service and no issues with waiting to be served. We used the pool and adjacent bar most days, and for those loving the sun, the left hand side of the pool as you look at the main hotel building gets the most sun during the day. The ‘heated’ pool was clearly not heated for the first few days and we were initially told the pool heating would not be switched on until the end of the month. The arrival of numerous families on the final day, did seem to result in the pool warming up significantly on the final day. As noted on a couple of previous posts, the hotel is adjacent to a conference centre and therefore a significant number of attendees stay in the hotel. Spending a number of days by the pool we naturally used the pool bar for drinks and lunch. It was then when my gripes about the poor service emerged as notes below. - 2 members of staff were looking after the pool area, but it took an age to get served. - We ordered the margarita pizza with ‘fresh basil’ on one occasion. Whilst the food arrived swiftly, it was minus any fresh ingredients and disappointingly tasteless. It was great to see the peacocks and rabbit prowling around the hotel. After chilling by the pool, we also had drinks in the adjacent bar, but the actual service was very very slow and on occasions we just walked away. Some examples are as follows: - On one occasion late at night we had to wait 20mins for a Bailey’s and glass of wine. - Having been presented with a menu, we waited over 15mins for any one to come and take an order. (We left as we were off for dinner) - On the final night we took our seats and waited over 20mins to get a menu and eventually left. The bar menu also has a page called ‘Happy Cocktails’ which are 3 cocktails that are priced at 100dhs between 1800h - 1900h. We naturally assumed this was a Happy Hour and took advantage of this on the final night. Having drunk our cocktails, we waited again over 15mins to get a bill. Frustrated, I went to the bar to pay the 300dhs in cash and the walked away. I was then chased down the path by a member of the bar team to say I owed an additional 60dhs and the Happy Cocktails are only available if you have a voucher (which was in no way articulated in the menu). After a heated debate, between myself, the bar team and the manager, I didn’t pay the additional charge, but they remained adamant I was in the wrong. The majority of these issues did seem to happen when a large number of conference delegates were at the bar and it was if they had preference compared to normal hotel guests? On the final night we decided to eat in Marcelona, the onsite Spanish restaurant on the basis that the menu looked really good. Yet again the service was way below par and not what you expect of a 5 star resort, whilst the food did not match up to the expectation from the menu. This was the final straw for me and spoilt the holiday, so I went to raise my concerns with the reception team. Given the previous reviews have a praised the service, I was really surprised about my experience but it really spoilt the overall stay.

Nice managers, nice stay at the Movenpick. Close to m avenue. All the the shops, food. Great hotel with an amazing breakfast. The breakfast staff is second to none. All the Moroccan food and other cuisine. Very nice hotel. Peacocks, white rabbits, cats. Follow the white rabbit. Super lush grounds.

Our recent stay at Mövenpick Marrakech was truly delightful. The hotel has a beautiful decor and a wonderful ambiance which ensures a comfortable and relaxed stay. The cleanliness is also impeccable and this of course is due to the wonderful housekeeping team. The staff in this establishment are outstanding, every member being polite and professional and ensuring that all your needs are met. The kindness and lovely smiles by the staff that met us every day in the restaurant was so welcoming and the help from the concierge was outstanding.
