The Mecure is located in Southbank walking distance to all cafes, bars & venues. You can walk to Flinders street station by walking over the bridge that is only metres from the hotel. Our rooms had 2 double beds. Very comfortable with a variety of pillows to choose from. AC was adjustable. Had a smallish kitchenette. Bathroom had all you needed. Breakfast was good. Sufficient variety. Hotel has a cafe & bar and comfortable seating.

Another great and well looked after stay. The new dining breakfast area looks great and provides a wonderful dinner experience particularly for Accor plus members. Room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Bathroom dated but for any shortcomings the hotel location and staff bend over backwards to look after you during your stay. Particular commendations to the most lovely and professional Robbie and Anita on reception. You guys are a huge credit to the Mercure. We were so well looked after by Enoch and Imuzi in restaurant. Dining was an incredible experience which we highly recommend. Breakfast was also excellent. In room microwave, guest laundry and location location location make for a quality and value for money hotel stay! Amuna in housekeeping was lovely.

Well I arrived at the hotel at about 8:00 p.m. Came down from Queensland for business. Room was booked my secretary. Got to the front desk and nobody was there. Spoke to somebody else who was arriving at the same time who said that I had to check in via a kiosk. For some reason my credit card did not work. It was actually my free night as an Accor member. Of course I was delighted when the person behind the desk told me that I had been upgraded. Arrived in my room to find that I have two single beds and the bathroom stinks. I will really have to consider whether I stay in the future. The trouble is that somebody will respond to this message and tell me that they are very sorry for what has happened. But frankly, nobody gives a rat's ass. Maybe that is why the bathroom stinks.

Very disappointed. We usually stay within a budget but decided to spoil ourselves. The room was nice and quiet but biscuit crumbs under the couch seats, bathroom doorknob nearly falling off, no hand soap (empty container with a note ignored on the second day), no tea bags with the lid left open so they could see it was empty, toilet seat wouldn't stay up for a male pee (had to be held open with a knee), the $2 bin in the bathroom had to be held to be used (no way could you just use your foot to open it). One lift not working which meant longer waits. We would have taken the stairs except someone told us they were alarmed. Then, when we went to check out, there was a $32 breakfast charge on the room (not ours). So we couldn't do a fast check out. They waived that after we said it's not ours. Nice room, quiet, good location, friendly and helpful desk staff. Won't be back.

One of the worst Accor hotels I have stayed at

We stayed 4 nights , the second morning, they ran out of eggs, when I told them , they said sorry , we are busy, I waited 15 mins , still no eggs , breakfast cost $32 , I had to leave for a meeting with out getting any eggs, the lift was out for 3 days , sometimes the wait was over 20 mins to get downstairs ( you couldn’t use the stairs , because the fire alarm would go off ) , a male housekeeper , walked in on my wife in the middle of the day , with out knocking or shouting housekeeping , my wife just looked up and there was a man standing there , saying he come to clean the room , the beds weren’t made any of the 4 days , no clean sheets for all the time we were there , they just pulled up the top cover, not even straighten the pillows or bottom sheet. There were no replacement of teabags or coffee sachets.
