Myself and friend stayed 1 night had a room each with breakfast included, first thing to say is the staff are fantastic really helpful, well presented, cheerful and polite, on entering the hotel it was very pleasant clean open and airy had a good feeling, got to the room and talk about basic it was at best basic although clean and well decorated however it lacked everything else, only 1 very small bottle of water, no tissues, very restricted TV but had good Wifi, we both ventured to the Bar and as all places in Oman the beer was stupidly expensive the AC was blasting so it was cold and they have no bar snacks but had a resteraunt type place connected to the bar, we both opted for austrailian lamb with some wierd conconcoction of veg with frys on the side, very very disapointing, I would lay odds that in no way was it lamb and i doubt was Austrailian it was tasteless cold and was more akin to old desert mutton it all have a burned smell and at 16 Riyals (40 Euro) each was a rip off, still lesson learned. Next Morning we went down for breakfast and was quite impressed as we walked in however that feeling soon disapeared we waited 10 minutes for the cheff to arrive to cook the eggs (Fried) we collected the rest of the breakfast from the self service everything looked pretty good we both had sausage, bacon, hash brown and toast, no baked beans available, it was stone cold all of it and I mean cold what a let down, very very disapointing, dont waste your money on breakfast if you want a hot one. On a posetive note the hotel is pretty well situated and I suppose is acceptable for a nights stopover especially if your heading to the airport

Closer to Airport helps us arrive and depart conveniently. Check-in counter had only one colleague resulting in long wait. Vegetarian options in breakfast were limited.

Novotel Muscat airport - very good facilities and good prices. They charge for 6 hours but help to refresh for the next connecting flight. Nearby are many fast-food joints all offering Halal food. The food court is very clean and good activities and place of play for children
