It’s the second time that I stay in this hotel for 3-4 days each time in the last month. Both times the phone in the room was not working and both times nobody from maintenance came to fix it (in spite of being told on day 1). This is a hotel that my company (a well known and large multinational) is now starting to book for meetings and conferences (after a few years of being vetoed). On day one of my second stay this month I got food poisoned! Certainly not a 5-star food menu! This ruined my whole week! If you want a 5-star experience in Geneva go for other hotels. Fairmont is NOT a 5-star hotel or experience AT ALL.

The hotel and staff are fantastic. Tiago goes out of his way to be helpful and considerate. Karim and other members of the staff are always prepared to assist. This is my favorite hotel for work in Geneva because of the staff, the huge gym, the sauna/hammam open until 9:30, and the indoor pool which is open until midnight.

Great hotel with amazing service in the center of Geneva. Upon check in, Baud & Karim were very helpful and welcoming, they did their best to accommodate us. We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. I would suggest this hotel for anyone visiting Geneva.

At front desk check-in Nothing says we don’t value your custom more than when enquiring about the possibility of an upgrade of booked room to an equivalent room but with a lake view, to be met with such a response. ‘It will be 500CHF a night fee’. A reasonable request for A quiet January Wednesday night from myself you might think. Hardly a busy summer weekend. I was told by the checkin lady who was perfectly amicable the equivalent room (a 30sqm room NOT a suite) but with a lake view would cost 500CHF extra per night for the same basic room for each night of my stay (2 nights) on top of my existing payment. How the hotel can justify almost 1000CHF for the same room with a lake view is beyond me. Shows me the checkin staff don’t have any empowerment to flex to their guests, unless of course they’re wearing a flashy Rolex or kick up a fuss I suspect. Also a missed opportunity to promote the brand to someone who has stayed at other Fairmont properties in the recent past (Monte Carlo) and made this clear on checkin: eg: brand loyalty. Celebrating a promotion - all of which were made clear on checkin and prior to booking. If Fairmont really treats loyal customers this way then what’s the point, I don’t believe for one moment that the hotel couldn’t upgrade the room for less than 1000CHF. No I did not accept the insulting ‘upgrade offer’ Other than that, the experience and room was to good standard. Housekeeping good and turn down service, breakfast staff were very good. That’s what balances this out is that some elements of Fairmont property is really nice and luxury and other elements feel soulless and like you’re just one of many who will come and drop money in their properties, a very arrogant approach if you ask me.
