Very nice hotel, great breakfast and rooms are very clean. Staff were all excellent. The location is amazing, mall, shops, food, markets, south Xi’an wall and the bell tower are all extremely close.

This hotel is right in the middle of Xi’an. It has great accessibility with the metro at your doorstep and many attractions within walking distance. It also has laundry facilities - great for long stays. The hotel is also a member of another group and they did not seem to understand Accor benefits. Once explained, it was provided (e.g. daily breakfast). They also put on afternoon tea. I found the internet connection very slow at night. If you don’t like very busy places, staying inside the Xi’an wall where the hotel is may not be for you. Since it’s a central tourist place, it gets very crowded and noisy during the day. I visited in July, which is quite unpleasant as the temperature hovers at 40deg. Fortunately, the room is comfortable. In regard to the staff, English can be a problem. The reception staff needs consistency with the responses they provide. More training is required. we were enquiring about the extension time for checkout & we were given different times from each staff. They also need to improve on their attire to ensure professionally presented. Some of the staff are fantastic. Special mention to XinLi Jia, SenHua Zhang and staff, who looked after me when I was not feeling well. They do an admirable job, especially having to deal with many difficult customers daily. Note to others - if you treat them with respect, the staff will respond accordingly. The staff who cleans my room was also fantastic (unfortunately I do not have her name)

The Novotel by the Bell Tower is good rather than average due to its amazing location. It is perfectly placed in the very centre of the town and right next to a Metro station. Despite this, it was not noisy in my room on the sixth floor, although the fact that ear plugs are provided suggests some of the other rooms may be noisier. Breakfast was decent, the room is a good size and everything was very clean and tidy. I paid about £80 a night on Booking.com, but I’ve seen it cheaper on Trip.com.

Novotel Xi’an is perfectly located for exploring the city, right in the heart of the historic area with easy access to the metro, bars, and restaurants. The hotel did mention that noise could be an issue, but we personally did not experience this during our stay. They did provide ear plugs in the room. The rooms were modern, spacious, and clean, but the air conditioning was a major issue. It didn’t work properly, and our room stayed around 30 degrees. The hotel provided a portable air conditioner, but it was noisy and didn’t really cool the room so this is something to keep in mind. Breakfast was disappointing, with very limited international options and poor quality. It was not well replenished, and the staff came across as quite rude, which was unexpected. On a positive note, the hotel had good gym facilities and offered free self-service laundry, which was a great perk. One of the biggest downsides was the lack of English-speaking staff, despite the hotel website stating otherwise, we found communication difficult and had to rely on translation apps. This is not uncommon in China but for an international brand and the website stating otherwise this wasn’t great. However, the most frustrating aspect was the lack of recognition for Platinum ALL members. Aside from the free breakfast (which we had to ask for) and wasn’t great anyway, none of the usual benefits were provided, and staff seemed unaware of the program, which was extremely disappointing. Overall, a well-located hotel with modern rooms and good facilities, but the air conditioning, breakfast quality, and lack of ALL member recognition were significant letdowns.

My friends and I (total 3 of us) stayed from 1-4 March 2025. We have enjoyed our stay at this Novotel the Bell Tower. The location of this hotel is superb, close to metro line 6 and line 2 Exit H (with escalators/ lift access), also the bus stops are not far away. Staying in this hotel can easily roam around to the attractions nearby, e.g. Xhannxi History Museum, Beillin Museums, etc. Even can take the metro and a bus to visit the Terracotta warriors (more than an hour one way). Room is spacious and clean, toilet and shower is separate. Slippers, towels, toothbrushes and bathrobes are provided. The room temperature is a bit warm for us so we have the window opened. Staff are very helpful, nice and cheerful. Especially, Cindy Fu (GM) is very helpful to follow thru since my pre-booking email, booking my nights, arranging the extra bed for my stay till after check-out the hotel. It makes me feel warm welcome to stay in Novotel the Bell Tower. For hotel facilities, this hotel has a small gym (TechnoGym machines) with 2 no. of treadmills , some dumbbells with bench for weight training and yoga ball provided. It was clean with towel and water provided to the guests. Breakfast is buffet type with local xi'an food & western food provided, e.g. coffee, soy milk, noodles, salads, bread and bacon & eggs, etc. With the abovementioned and the valuable price for our stay, I definitely will stay in Novotel the Bell Tower when I come to Xian again.
