This is a great property that is well furnished with great facilities. Unfortunately, it's getting very localized. There are only 4 English TV stations and 3 of them were blocked. I hope you like HBO, or I hope you dont watch TV. The room service and other facilities menus are only scanned by WeChat and there is no English version. I realize that foreigners are traveling less in China but that wont last long. I hope they can get their act together. Also didn't help that they gave me someone else's pants when I had them cleaned. Luckily I saw that in time and they were able to find my pants. And the bar closes at 7PM. What kind of bar closes at 7PM? That's when bars are supposed to open. I hope this is a temporary COVID thing because it makes no sense.

Note that as you perfectly mentioned, some of the issues encountered are indeed related to Covid-19 , and it is of course temporary. Based on your feedback and lately guests communication we have consequently adjusted our operational hours for our Lobby Bar starting from this week. On another hand, the trend has been on reducing as much as possible printed materials in both rooms and public areas. This is one part of a larger Accor safety program (“AllSafe”) to provide to our guests with a safe environment. We also understand that proper communication must be guaranteed, and this is why we have some English menus available when required. Obviously there was some shortfalls in our room checking process and this will be addressed. Once again thank you for sharing on tripadvisor.com and we look forward to welcome you again. What a superb hotel! We arrived quite early after a long flight and the wonderful Peter at reception helped us check in early so we could go back to sleep. He really was a life saver! The room is really well designed and very modern. The bed was super comfy, made it hard to get out of bed each day! Every staff member we interacted with was very professional and polite, especially the bell team with transport advice and helping us with taxi's. Overall great stay, can't recommend it enough.

Not what we were expecting from Sofitel when we checked in. Our flight into Beijing was early in the morning, hence we arrived at the hotel in the morning prior check in hours. From our previous Sofitel experiences, adjustments can usually be made for us to check in earlier. Our original booking was on the executive floor and we were told upon arrival not much could be done for immediate check in unless we paid 2000 RMB more per day to upgrade. We expressed our disappointment and asked a few times if this was the best arrangement they could give for immediate check in. They told us all rooms are booked despite the off peak season which baffles us. We waited at the bar and was told shortly after there is a room that is available with another slightly cheaper upgrade. It baffles me if it is really full occupancy. Other than this, Iris from the housekeeping service is good. She saw that our daughter loves drawing and left a few pieces of A4 paper for her to write and draw on. We will like to commend her for her thoughtfulness. Aside from that, the lifeguard at the swimming pool (Liu Wei) is also very thoughtful as he offered a floating device to my daughter learning to swim.

I was upgraded to a Jr.Suite thanks to my status at Accord, wonderful room and views. Went for dinner at the Chinese restaurant, it was empty but yet two dishes out of the 3 ordered where not available. We then went to the Bistro, the meat ordered was excellent but we had to eat while they where cleaning the premises, with the noise of the machines. A manager noticed and asked the personnel to stop. Ordered a hotel limo for airport transfer and ended-up in an Uber paid by the Concierge as they booked me the wrong day.... Good facilities, service needs a big improvement, staff was nevertheless nice and smiling.

the management knew from the booking day that the business center will not be there and Yet they fail to disclose to us during the booking Intentionally to avoid any cancellation... that a shame !!! as the manager confessed to me that he could not per upper management let us know about ( business center is not available ) I then have to change my meeting and let not even mention the poor quality of the breakfast with so many bad ad old food wrong and not even available again the manager apologized and he confessed that upper management will not let them buy fresh croissant and products for the breakfast ,, result it was horrible !! troubleshot , room where confused and not able to have electric shades ARE NOT working properly !!!!! this Hotel is not suitable for business people and the lies from the management will be posted in all Our socials network.,. this will be the last time for triangle Co to use again accord this ill be the last time and will be reported all over ., shame of You for lying to clients shame of You to be so cheap and shame on you for the struggle given to us during Our stay in this hotel; CEO Triangle will never use accords or Sofitel hotels .

Although you gave us a picture of some of the areas which were not satisfactory, I would be very thankful if you could send me more details about your stay to let me understand how we ended up to such a disappointment. First of all, regarding our business center, we do provide all the required services in our concierge beside the Front Desk. Mentioning about a meeting room, we also have meeting spaces available for rental or on complimentary basis for few hours if it is part of any of our guest benefits. Again regarding this specific point, I am not sure if it was a miscommunication from our colleagues but in any case we will get the team to retrain our talents to ensure our services are properly communicated with our guests. As for the breakfast, rest assured that no one from the Management team is trying to cut corners by providing “not fresh products”. By doing so we would not only put ourselves out of this market but also put the reputation of the brand at risk. If there has been some quality issue, thank you for bringing it up and we will look into it as butter croissant is one of the fundamental of our brand for breakfast. Finally, we do have electric curtains and shades from 10th floor and above but they should have been in working order prior to your check in. Please accept our sincere apologies as it shows that the room was not properly inspected. Another point where we need to reinforce our basic procedures. The missing lounge should have been compensated by additional room services, but it worked out 2 x and the other 2x it was not served. The employes were very helpful but the communication was difficult due to limited English Language skills. (Except Concierge and Reception)

This credit can be used in the restaurants & SPA. Apparently some services were not provided from what I can understand, but we would highly appreciate if you could share more specifics with us. On another hand, our sincere apologies for the shortfalls in the level of English from some our colleagues. This is an area we are working on. Sofitel Hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Jianguomen Subway Station Exit B. No restaurants or super-mart around the area but is within easy reach by subway. Nice room but need a little time to get familiarise with the electrical switches. Concierge Alvin was very helpful in giving information+directions and Lucas Zhang suggested and purchased tickets to the Forbidden City for us in advance, saving us the trouble of having to queue when we got there. We stayed for 5 nights. Breakfast was good but the breakfast spread was almost the same daily throughout our stay. Housekeeper were courteous and request made for choice of pillows were attended to promptly by Ms Zhao. All items in the mini bar were free of charge. The biggest surprised came, when Guest Relation Manager Ms Jasmine called to wish and later delivered a birthday cake to the room. We were surprised as we had not mentioned it to anyone. Thank you all for making our stay a pleasant one. Hotel highly recommended for comfort and service..

The first room has a strong smell of smoke. The hotel should strengthen the non-smoking regulations.Before check-in, the reservation staff contact me to confirm the reservation in advance and inform me that welcome gifts will be prepared in the room. But there are no welcome gifts in the room when I check in.As a silver card member, the front desk staff did not provide the welcome drink coupon when I check in. But the concierge staff is very good and proactive.Room sound insulation is not good.
