Has gone downhill dramatically and we won't stay again.

We've stayed at this hotel many times and have previously enjoyed it and the Lockbox restaurant. This stay was different. The hotel has become a little shabbier in general. The sink didn't drain properly, paint on the window frames was peeling, there were problems with the internet, and the elevators took a very, very long time to respond. The food from the restaurant was a disappointment, unlike in the past. Front desk personnel were not rude, but were not friendly or helpful. But what was most disappointing was that the hotel charged us for an extra night. After many email exchanges and telephone calls we were unable to get them to reimburse us. They continued to say they had not charged us while our credit card indicated charges for an extra night. We will not stay in this hotel again, nor in any of their other locations. Very disappointing, since it was once one of our favorite places to stay.

The location & the art are great, but the housekeeping was uneven and the internet was horrible. Underwhelming for the $

Boutique hotel with lots of art. Right downtown. Our corner room is large with a comfy modern sofa. Comfortable bed and great shower.

A true Jewel in Downtown Lexington

We had the pleasure of re-visiting 21c in Lexington a few weeks ago ~ July 22-25, 2025. Having been there 'pre-COVID', we were not sure if much had changed in the way of design and decor. The accommodations were AMAZING - Room 1402 was well appointed and had incredible city views! Shout outs to the remarkable service people - in particular SQ in the bar (ask him about his sideline art work!), JP in the Lock Box restaurant and Dejah (an aspiring opera performer) - also in the Lock Box. The site restaurant (Lock Box) had exceptional food at reasonable pricing and ample portions. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the major Downtown sites - historic landmarks, great restaurants (Tony's is just down Main) and has also been the starting point of a Lexington Art Walking Tour throughout the area.

Nice boutique feeling with local flair and an art angle that has kept the interesting angle despite now being in a chain

We have been here a number of times. The service is attentive and friendly. The rooms are nicely done with a bit of flair given the art concept. The in room coffee is espresso based which is a nice touch. If you have an option get a high floor king for the view and less noise. The restaurant has a limited menu but reasonably creative in a good way in comparison to other also good restaurants in town. We always enjoy seeing the rotating exhibits of art each time we come. The price can vary rather dramatically based on events so do check options and dates before choosing.
