No A/C lobby smell

We arrived at noon and were told no rooms were available. We returned at 3 PM to find no room was ready. The front desk staff were unhelpful, but eventually, a supervisor located a room for us. Unfortunately, it lacked air conditioning. Maintenance worked on the issue at 10 PM but couldn’t resolve it. By 11 PM, the front desk suggested moving us to another room, requiring us to pack up our belongings. The “Its not my problem hotel”

I have stayed at other 21C Hotels before and enjoyed them except Durham. The Cincinnati 21C was surprisingly disappointing as well, from no fitted sheets available in the entire hotel (flat sheet was crumpled ball) in morning. Our room service person was shocked as well and I said have you told the managers and she said “No I just work here” The dinner upon arrival was mediocre, breakfast's was comedic, low staff trying to serve many tables when the hotel was “fully committed” The room windows were filthy, skid marks on walls that no one bothered to clean, etc etc The hotel is tired, is has been sold to a private equity group?? It has lost its luster Too bad, I love the concept of living among top art!!!

Room price rip off.

The hotel is a rip off. We booked 2 weeks ago and supposedly received a 21% discount. The price today for the same room has dropped $80. We asked for a rate adjustment. Nothing. I guess they like ripping off their customers, especially guests who live out of town. Do they think I am going to spend money in their restaurant or bar area? We come to Cincinnati quite often. I am sure we will never stay here again. If you book here ahead of time , check the rate daily and rebook if it drops. Or better get just stay somewhere else. !!!!!!!!

AC was not working.

My room AC wasn’t working middle of the summer. I talked to Front Desk. They were full booked and didn’t have any fans. I told Front Desk again when I check out. She told me ok. “You are good to go.” No refund or any support. Poor service. I hope I will never stay here again.

Quirky but Worth the Money?

The hotel is funky in that there is avant-garde art around the property, but otherwise, it is rather basic. The valet service is attentive and convenient, location is good, but I don't feel it is a very good value given all the other choices in town. The room is plain, carpet needed to be cleaned, cobwebs behind drapes, just not the highest standards. Also, there were three piles of towels, trash on the floor in different areas next to elevator and down two of the hallways when we went to our room.I informed the desk and these were removed, but it appeared they had been dumped by cleaning staff in the hallways.
