Poor customer service from manageress

This hotel has an underground car park accessed via an automatic gate and steep ramp. I drive a classic sports car which is low to the ground which unfortunately impaled itself on the auto gate stop bracket (approx 7cm high) bolted to the top of the ramp. As soon as your front wheels drop down this steep ramp, the middle of the car drops even lower contacting this 7cm high heavy steel plate which then drags across the underside of the car. Sports car owners beware, some cars will suffer severe damage, both catalytic convertors on my car are damaged which became obvious when I got the car home and up on my ramp in the garage. What is very dissapointing about this whole episode was the manageress and her attitude, she could not grasp why a small sports car could possibly suffer damage, its not happened before she states, what type of car do you have she asks, I recieved the full inquisition and total disbelief from her this could happen. I lost patience, and once I informed her I will not be able to remove the car from the underground car park unless this plate is removed (3 x Nuts), she insisted I call my UK insurance company to have the car removed from her garage, which was this plate, even though it may only take 5 mins to remove. T his was bordering on the surreal with the manageress just struggling to grasp a simple solution to the problem. My wife and I had planned or day driving down to Pegasus Bridge, but had to cancel ourplans as my car was now imprisoned in the undergrougnd car park until a solution could be found, remove the plate I said, the problem then goes away for you? Later on that day, I received a call from the manageress to confirm the plate had been removed, a 5 min operation by the hotel maintenence technician? So, whats the moral of this story, sports car owners beware, I suggest not using the garage in the hotel, there is parking on the street for which there is a charge. Also, expect no empathy from the manageress if you expereince any problems. To compound the unprofessionalism of this lady, not so much as a cup of coffee was offered for the inconvenience caused and the damage to my car. As I document this for the first time, I'm angry and frustrated at the treatment I received and I'm an ACCOR member, god knows what happens to those who are not.

Dear Guest, I understand you were frustrated that you damaged your car of course, but it is sad not to mention that I called you the minute our technician arrived and that we offered to wait until you check out, at the time of your convenience, to have our technician ready for you. Instead, you declined our offer and it was your own decision not to go to the Pegasus Bridge as you decided to stay around Deauville instead, and you thanked me several times over the phone for the solution offered. You probably do no remember this part, it is much more convenient to underline my so-called unprofessionalism! Since then, allthrough the summer, many classic sports cars have parked without a hitch, and I now leave it to other readers to make their own judgment about the quality of service we deliver at Novotel Deauville, may they be Accor guests or not! Oh and by the way, the autogate stop bracket if 5cm high. A precision that makes a difference I guess. Warm regards,

As an Accor Gold member, we have tried most of the Accor range over the years. We are familiar with Deauville and we thought we’d try this higher end hotel. As we were not travelling too far for the first night, we asked for an early check in. We were told to phone in the morning of arrival. We did. We were told No (although we could park up before 4pm). Not very special The reception team on arrival were pretty grumpy. Our Executive room was stylish, but it soon became clear that the wooden floors were noisy at points in the night. We had intended using the gym, but it was hopelessly inadequate. The pool was also far too small for the number of children flocking there. The breakfast quality was good, but at the 9am rush hour, the room could barely cope. As the French would say, the overall prix/qualite was poor. A shame as the hotel’s location was very good.

I had two nights here in a very nicely renovated suite with lots of room and a very comfortable bed. It was advertised as with a sea view which was technically correct but it was just a sliver of a view of the sea as I was on level 1. Breakfast was great - lots of typical French breads and pastries but basic hot food (just bacon and eggs). Parking is limited underneath. You have to book but it is subject to availability. There seems to be parking on the street but I’m not sure how long you can park there. There were cars parked there overnight though. The main restaurant is in the hotel but seems to be separate from it as you pay directly to them ie no room charge. The food was excellent. Generous serves and friendly staff. There is also a Japanese food counter that was good too. Location is good too. Just over the road and then down a track to the beach.

The staff was very welcoming and helped us, both at the hotel and restaurant. Good panoramic view from the restaurant and good food, menu. Very patient and ice with kids as well Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Gym and pool very clean and nice

立地は非常に良く満足できました。ただ、滞在中の天気が悪かったので、夕日を見ることが出来なかったのが残念です。 部屋は広くキレイで空調も問題なく、とても満足できました。 朝食も美味しく、スタッフも笑顔で良かったです。 またドーヴィルに来る機会があれば、是非泊まってみたいホテルだと感じました。
