Frustrating - no attention to detail or care shown

I found our stay at the Movenpick in Casablanca very frustrating. The complete lack of care and attention to detail was appalling. I would not recommend anyone stay here given the price that is being paid. I expect better. The check in took well over 30 mins and we just had to wait around for an unknown reason. The bathroom had a long list of minor issues. The foot pedal on the bin was broken, the flush on the loo was broken (it did still work!), the lighting in the shower was poor, the toilet paper was thin and cheap feeling, floor was dirty in places with old hair, some of the tiles were cracked, the galvanisation on the fittings was peeling and there was no deal on the shower screen so the floor got really wet. However the thing that really annoyed me was that the paining was so bad. There was paint splatter on the floor and on the counter. There was even paint all over things that could easily be moved including the phone and pictures. It was just lazy and uncaring. In the bedroom the windows were very dirty and covered in bird droppings, the mugs were blemished, the safe was permanently locked, the veneer on some of the little tables was bubbling and peeling. Also having kids when we went to leave I was checking under the bed for toys I found some of the slates of the bed were broken and there was a food bowl under there! The top floor had a great view. The hotel however tried to do too much with it. The pool was up there along with the dining room. I felt a bit weird swimming whilst people had their lunch. The ground around the pool was also very slippery. They had someone permanently mopping it, yet my daughter still fell over. There was also a number of missing tiles which I actually had fun diving for! The breakfast was alright and there was a range of options. I got down early one morning and watched staff cleaning tables. I use the term loosely, they seemed to push the crumbs on the floor and then flip the mats over for the next guest! When we had arrived down later the day before there had been a lack of cutlery and plates/bowls available. The check out was probably the most frustrating part of the whole stay. I’d been staying with my wife and kids in two rooms. You get a 50% discount on the second room and the kids get free breakfast. I had the details with me on the cost we were set to pay. Despite all of this they couldn’t get their systems to line up. This meant we waited for over an hour while they sorted it out. Eventually they found out they had charged me for kids breakfasts. This meant we got away later than we hoped for a long drive.

Nice hotel with beautiful view, kind stuff, food is delicious. Rooms are clean. I like the breakfast but we come from Türkiye. We eat more salty dishes. So for us we don't have much things to eat.
