Great hotel if you're visiting Petra in Jordan

Petra is an amazing place and a "must see' for any global traveler, IMO. There are a few hotels near the entrance to Petra, and the Movenpick Resort Petra is immediately across the street from the entrance. The hotel is beautifully done, the staff is terrific, and the restaurants are terrific. There are also some very nice shops in the hotel offering local crafts at reasonable prices. A highlight of our stay at the hotel was ourdinner at Al Awan, the fine dining restaurant in the hotel. The food was really good, the atmosphere was quiet and lovely and the service was amazing. Our server, Mary Ann De Guzman was gracious, warm, conversational and she did a terrific job of helping us to enjoy the evening. I wish all servers could watch her do the job, she's that good. Were I to re-visit Petra, I would absolutely book my stay at the Movenpick hotel, it's a terrific hotel.
