No heat and broken shower-Aswan Egypt

We booked two rooms for two nights to stay over the Christmas holiday in Aswan Egypt. In one of the rooms neither the heat worked nor the shower. We called the front desk and no one came to fix either. So after waiting for several hours our daughters went to bed in the cold without bathing. We asked the hotel to fix both repeatedly to no avail. Finally, on our second night after much back and forth, they finally delivered a space heater, and tried to repair the heating. The repairs were inadequate and never worked. No one repaired the shower. We were comped one night for the room but charged taxes and fees for both nights. I have stayed at Accor hotels in the past both for personal and business, but I will never stay at a Movenpick again!

Extremely date hotel, needs major renovation, not a 5 star

Very happy with people, service and food. They are doing amazing job. The building is in a very disappointing condition. Has not been renovated since it’s opening in 1970s. Not sure how this is rated 5 stars.

Perfect location! Family friendly rooms! All smiles and friendly Staff ( Akhmed at the restaurant stands out). In general, everyone we interacted with-bar staff, restaurant staff, front desk, room service and hospitality-went above and beyond to help. Did I mention hospitality called every night to check on our welfare and needs…Behold the variety of food and beverages at the restaurant-simply fresh and delicious! The singer Anna provided a fresh breath of air every night during our stay (she even sang our favorite tunes upon request). Ferry service to/from the Island was prompt and smooth…boat staff were lovely and always super helpful. In short, this hotel was worth every penny and would stand tall when compared to ANY five to seven star hotel out there!

the hotel location is super. the hotel is good but we can not consider it as Luxuries hotel. the tower restaurant view is amazing, but food is not same standard expected in this location. we had problem with hot water all through the stay in our villa. pool was not heated as mentioned. in brief, hotel with this area and location can be much much more rewardable if some issues are well managed.

My wife and I had changes to the cruise after arriving. Even though our reservation was non-changeable, they changed it to a new day. We made several requests involving multiple departments. All were met. Two staff members greeted us personally in our room and provided a fruit basket and desserts. They asked if we liked the view and one escorted us to the other building to go to the restaurant. The service was professional and personal from the welcome drink to the ferry driver pulling back around to pick us up because we were a smidge late to get to the dock. I know I sound like a "needy" customer. I think i can't argue this. However, the point is...they met these needs. Our one regret is not having enough time to eat breakfast because we woke up late.

Peaceful Island Retreat 5 Minutes from Aswan!

Aswan can be a bit messy and chaotic, but a five-minute ferry ride transports you to Movenpick's lovely, clean, peaceful resort in the middle of the Nile. I like Movenpick's new building at the northern tip of the island. ● All rooms have pretty Nile views. ● Staff are sweet and helpful. ● Food is very good with an excellent breakfast. ● Pianist playing in the lobby adds a sophisticated touch. Highly recommended.
