The food is a spectacular fail

I would rate the hotel itself "very good". The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the grounds are pretty and the staff were all very friendly and lovely. But the food is "very poor." After I booked, I was warned by a past guest not to eat there. But I was hungry. So I ordered a Yorkshire cheese and chutney sandwich, thinking, "How far wrong can you go with that?" The answer is "very." When my sandwhich arrived,I opened one half to reveal maybe half a pound of chutney - and no cheese. When I complained, the waitress informed me those 7 (I counted) tiny, hard, pale yellow strands the size of cut fingernails stirred into the chutney WERE the cheese. I asked for some actual cheese and the waitress took my sandwich back to the kitchen. When it came back to me, the "chef" had added about 12 strands of what I was told were grated cheese. I took a bite. The "cheese" was cold and tasted of nothing. The bread was poor quality - soggy and flavourless. I spit the bite into my napkin and didn't attempt another. This was a spectacular fail. And not cheap, either. I hope whoever Kenwood Hall has chained up in their kitchen escapes soon - and that they hire a chef who actually knows how to cook. Or at least, how to make a cheese sandwich.

Goed hotel, veel is netjes vernieuwd. Vergeet reviews over verouderde inrichting.

We kregen voor onze standaard-kamer bestelling niettemin een grote kamer met balkon. Goed gemeubileerd, rustig en goed verduisterd voor nachtrust. Ontbijt is redelijk tot matig. Wel veel ingrediënten voor ouderwets English breakfast, maar geen yoghurt voor bij de muesli. En de kaas was vrijwel op. Croissant bleek gevuld met zoete pudding. Geen verse sinaasappelsap, wel redelijke uit container. Belangrijkste minpuntje is de wifi, die onbeveiligd wordt geleverd. Zozeer, dat de goed gewapende iPad van mijn echtgenote de toegang weigerde. De tweede keer dat we verbleven (kleinere kamer dit keer, maar sfeervoller gemeubileerd) bleek er beneden een dansfeest aan de gang, dat ons tot circa middernacht uit de slaap hield. Dat hoort eigenlijk niet in een hotel, zou het rapportcijfer naar *** kunnen drukken. Maar het fijne zwembad + sporthal maakt veel goed.

Had a great stay at this lovely hotel The reception staff were great especially Lisa! She’s a credit to the team. As someone new to the area she was great on where to go and what to do around Sheffield Me and my friends had a great time Visiting the Christmas market Would definitely stay again

L'hotel è immerso nel verde e il personale è estremamente gentile ed efficente. Le stanze sono ampie ma necessitano manutenzione e aggiornamento. Detto questo si tratta comunque di un hotel che consiglierei senza esitazione.
