We stayed at Perle d'orient for longer than most people , 9 nights . We couldn't fault it, the Staff were polite with nothing too much trouble, the location ( even when you take into account the nearby building work as it dosen't encroach ) is only 15 minute walk into Cat ba town or a taxi from the bottom of the road that leads to the Beach, which is kept clean . It was chosen because it looked well appointed and interestingly set out , this didn't disappoint , the rooms the reception and dinning rooms having that old colonial feel , even though the hotel is only less than 10 years old...it shows the attention to detail. A good choice .

This hotel is not like other M Gallery hotels. The waiting staff is not trained at an Accor and Mgallery standard, most cant comprehend English. Once you use the Hotel Chain name you have to maintain the standard. As a member Accor currently staying at the hotel i am underwhelmed. There are no non alcoholic beers or cocktails, The outside chairs are dirty at breakfast, the breakfast lacks basics such as nuts and bircher muesli. No assorted cheese or cold meats at breakfast. The guests are loud at night and i had to call at night to ask someone to help…if they are maintaining international costs they needed to maintain international standards as well. Sapa and Yen Tu are better.

Horrible attitude of everyone in this hotel!

We had such a horrible experience! Extremely rude and untrained staff! Least bothered and 0 for service. I had written an email asking them what best they can do for us since we were staying at their property for our 10th anniversary and when we reached the room nothing was done so I called the reception and asked them and they said too bad you should have written it in your booking email, I told them I had very much done that and they had missed it, later on a DND sign their staff is coming and knocking the door till we open it completely disturbing us and when I open the door they don’t even greet they just shove a plate of some dessert in my hand and walk off, after 20mins another staff comes and leaves a cake like they are doing us some favour! Then they ask us if they should decorate our room!!! Like why would you ask us that if u want to do it as a gesture from your side! Such terrible attitude! I had booked an appointment for a 60min body scrub which they finished in 35mins all rushed up not like they had some 10 ppl waiting I was literally the only one and still they rushed it up At checkout when we gave them feedback their manager did not even have the decent to meet us and listen to us and he/she just says oh offer them a free drop to the port! Like as if he is doing another big favour for us! We obviously declined because we did not want anything further with them. It’s definitely the best property on this tiny growing island and we expected the service to be excellent but sadly all we got was attitude and dissatisfaction!

Regarding on spa service, I have checked with spa therapy and was informed that you booked 45 Minutes for Green tea body scrub treatment and they has completed it on time as you came earlier 10 minutes before your booking time. As you checked out early, that's why we have no chance to see you on your departure. We has arranged the transportation to drop you to the port as our sincere gesture to apology for our mistaken service to make our guest feel comfortable and forgive us. Once again, We are truly apologize for the inconvenience and hope to get your empathy and we would take necessary steps to address this issue to improve our service in future. Beautiful accommodations. The people were fabulous. Because of the time we were there, it was very quiet. Not very many people. We practically had the place to ourselves. Would recommend coming in nicer weather. It was a bit chilly. The beach was amazing.
