Ichingo Chobe River Lodge by Mantis 3,5 yıldız

An authentic, African river experience in that the location of the tented camp is on the banks of the Chobe river under tall, dense trees. Huge diversity of birds which is ideal for bird photography. The Chobe river is a centre piece of the destination - beautiful in early morning & evening light. Lots of hippo & crocodiles add to the experience. The staff at both the lodge & river boat (Princess 3) are exceptional. Well trained & professional. And friendly. Nothing is too much to ask for. The food on offer is as good as one gets in a 5-star game lodge in Southern Africa. As a bird photographer, the tented camp, guided tender boats and access to the river foliage is better than shooting off the river boat from a photographic boat looking for subjects in the river reed banks. The tender boats are more manoeuvrable than the larger photographic boats. And our guide, Anthony, did a great & patient job putting me in the best place to take photos. The only slightly negative comment, is the state of the tents. They are tired & need to be freshened up. Staff should also open & lighten them up for returning guests. However, my wife & I still loved the entire experience.

We had a four night stay here and it was just enough. We saw some great wildlife and got fantastic photos of birdlife. Big plus for us was having our own boat and guide so each morning and night we could alter the trips to suit us. Lodge was fine, food adequate. Staff excellent.

The location of the Lodge, on a section of rapids packed with bird life, is wonderful. The Lodge is amazingly efficient, with great staff across the board. One of the highlights of our 5 days was the exceptional fishing guide. Feedback from our group indicated that they were all good but our guide, Robert, made our trip. His knowledge of bird life is encyclopedic - and he's an amazing fishing guide and great company. We were looked after at every turn: meals, drinks, snacks on every boat trip and visit to the bar, transport from the airport...simply exceptional

Unique,charming and idyllic water experience in the Chobe River. 5 star resort with all the wonderful amenities with the perfect view and wildlife. The food was amazing and the service was beyond expectations. The guides are first class and go above and beyond to give you an experience you will not soon forget. The photos tell it all.

I have mixed feelings about our experience at the lodge. Our time on the Chobe Princesses were absolutely amazing and we were slightly disappointed in the lodge. The staff were absolutely amazing and the experiences offered were first class. However, the lodge itself requires a lot of maintenance and TLC. The management are lucky that the staff are so good as their interaction with guests was totally non existent. Both on arrival, departure and all in between. Food was mediocre and limited. More choice should be given and not just aset menu of one meal. After all this we did enjoy our time with you. Your staff deserve all the credit.
