Unpleasant Stay due to Poor Communication

Communication is essential in the service industry, but unfortunately, this hotel demonstrates a serious lack of it. • As an Accor member, I was surprised to be asked to prepay at the counter without any prior notice. Typically, payment is pre-arranged between Accor and the hotel. This unexpected requirement was only communicated at check-in. • There appears to be a lack of communication among internal staff. Instead of coordinating internally, staff members contact guests directly and unexpectedly. During my stay, I was disturbed twice: 1. At 10:00 am (one hour before the standard check-out time), a female staff member knocked on my door to check the minibar. 2. At around 11:30 am (despite reception having confirmed a late check-out at midday), a cleaner knocked and asked when I would be leaving so she could begin cleaning. • The reception did not record notes properly or confirm charges with me. I had agreed during check-out to redeem two Accor welcome drinks for bottles of still water from the minibar. However, later that day, I was charged for the minibar without any notification from the hotel. I only discovered the charge by checking my account and had to call reception to inquire about it myself. • The reception seems to prioritise face-to-face customers over resolving issues. When I called to query the unknown charge, the receptionist initially answered and listened briefly. Then, within seconds, someone walked up to the desk, and the receptionist asked me to hold while serving them immediately. My call was then transferred to another staff member to handle the issue. Additionally, be aware that if your feedback is negative, the reception may try to shift blame by claiming the phone line was cut off.

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. The cleanliness was non existent. Rooms had vomit on walls and it was not cleaned off even when reported. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The location was great but unfortunately that’s about the only positive going for this place.

Ho soggiornato diversi mesi in quest'hotel e mi sono sempre trovato come a casa. Personale cordiale e stanza molto pulita e accogliente. La cucina, considerando gli standard australiani, é molto buona e ricca di fantasia. Anche il servizio bar é di alto livello.

Forse mi aspettavo troppo avendo letto recensioni entusiastiche... in realtà la struttura era molto bella ma il panorama circostante era a dir poco depressivo. La camera era superaccessoriata ma con una patina di polvere che denotava un servizio non adeguato. Il personale alla reception non era di prim'ordine come ci si sarebbe aspettati, a parte una ragazza bruna che è stata molto collaborativa, omaggiandomi di un checkout serale.
