Peppers @ Salt was our go to family holiday destination for many years. We have many great family memories made there. However, we stayed there early this year and it will be the last time we will do so. The most disappointing experience ever. The rooms were tired and run down, the washing machine was dirty and musty, there was significant visible signs of mould growing on the blinds, when we raised it with the hotel manager he advised us that he didn’t have time to remove the blinds and if we were that concerned about the mould we should just remove the blinds ourselves rather than provide us with another room. Finally after significant discussion we were moved to a somewhat more suitable room. Still tired and run down. The overall service at Peppers Salt was appalling. All the while charging a premium room rate. Accor needs to take a hard look to the property and make some significant improvements in order to return the property to its former glory.

I have been visiting Peppers Salt for several years. My most recent visit in October 2025, which was a complete disappointment. Very tired, dirty, inattentive staff, sending us to wrong room, giving us wrong room key. Re-allocating to new room, key not functioning. Bathroom had cockroaches. Called to have light bulbs replaced early in morning. At 8pm called desk no answer as this hadn't been done. Went to reception and waited in queue for 20 minutes (only one person on the desk). Explained I needed bayonet bulbs replaced and we had requested this in the morning to no avail. Housekeeping arrived 40 minutes later with incorrect bulbs, as they had not been advised what was required. Restaurant not open. Makeshift bar open for 1hr only. They appeared to cater for Groups of businesses not your usual holiday makers. The pool area was not cleaned once during my stay. I approached the FO and asked for the Duty Manager or FO Manager and had no result. Room was not cleaned (even though was to be done only once a week). I had to remind them. No new towels, tea, coffee, toilet paper, or linen replenished. I ended up going to housekeeping whilst they were cleaning guests rooms and asking for towels, tea, coffee, new linen. What a waste of money !! Over 2k spent and long drive from Melbourne. We left early and will definitely not be back.

lets start by saying i was concerned by some reviews leading up to this trip. however we still went and found the resort to be GREAT! i would recommend pool was amazing breakfast well above what we expected. only thig would be we had a 3 bedroom room next time we will bring door chocks otherwise you will always need to carry a key to go to the main bedroom. I stayed at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff expecting a relaxing and pleasant experience based on the online description, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was filthy, with visible signs of dampness and decay. The bathroom sink was broken, and despite mentioning it to staff, nothing was done during my stay. The overall cleanliness was well below standard, and the room had a strong musty smell that made it uncomfortable to stay in. To make matters worse, the hotel had completely misrepresented its location. They claimed it was close to both the airport and the city centre, but in reality, it’s quite isolated. There was no access to public transportation nearby, and getting to the city required an expensive taxi or rideshare. The hotel also lacked basic amenities that one would expect from a "resort & spa". Honestly, nothing about this place felt like a proper resort. It felt more like an old, neglected motel pretending to be something it’s not. I strongly advise against booking this hotel, especially if you’re relying on location, cleanliness, or basic functionality. Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff was a major disappointment

We have stayed at this resort on a number of previous occasions and have always enjoyed the facilities and service. However, this recent visit was a significant letdown and not reflective of the standard we expect from a Peppers property. To begin with, we were not informed at the time of booking that the restaurant would be operating on limited hours. This lack of communication directly impacted our plans, especially as part of the appeal of staying at a full-service resort is the availability of onsite dining options. In addition, the garden heated pool was inaccessible during our stay, which again was not communicated to us prior to arrival. This was especially disappointing as it was one of the reasons we chose this property. More concerning, however, was the overall condition and cleanliness of our room. We had booked a spa room, but it was in a very poor state of maintenance. Specific issues include,Balcony furniture: One of the chairs had completely disintegrated, which clearly had not just happened recently. It gave the impression of long-term neglect. Block-out blind: The blind was filthy and covered in visible mold – completely unacceptable from both a hygiene and presentation standpoint. Kitchen appliances: The toaster was filled with crumbs and rusted on top. The washing machine also had noticeable rust. Toilet brush: The brush was broken and rusted internally. Exhaust fan: dirty – clearly not cleaned in some time. Overall cleanliness: The entire apartment felt poorly maintained and neglected. When room was serviced, the toilet paper, laundry powder and coffee pods were not replenished, no attention to detail Even outside of the room, the carpark area was in a very poor state. While I understand that birdlife can be difficult to manage, the large amount of bird droppings left uncleaned across the parking area was unpleasant and could easily be addressed with regular high-pressure cleaning.This experience has left us incredibly disappointed, particularly given the premium rates charged and the reputation that Peppers has held historically, we will not be returning
