Beautiful location and architecture but disappointing food and arrogant unwelcoming barman !

We went for dinner this evening . I am the type who never leaves bad reviews but I want to in this case . The welcome there from the lady at reception was good and warm but the barman made me wait ages when I had to order my food at the bar as they wouldn't do waiter service for ppl sitting outside and we wanted to sit outside. My dressed crab was absolutely the worst seafood dish I've ever had . A tiny flavourless crab covered in hard battered breadcrumbs...zero crab flavour and texture whatsoever. The glass noodle salad was very small and hardly any herbs or spices or flavour to it either . So disappointed for the price I paid . I expected a delicious fresh meaty crab taste and that exquisite crab texture and delicious dressing . But it arrived hard and breadcrumbed . The Pina colada I ordered was mostly ice and had zero flavour to it ...and it was thin and watery . I was so looking forward to a delicious creamy flavourful coconutty Pina colada cocktail with that yummy rum and cream taste and texture ! So disappointing . The island here is astonishing and tropical and beautiful and the architecture and design of Peppers is wonderful and its swimming pool is exquisite. But the food is awful . My friends were also disappointed with theirs - one of them ordered calamari as a main dish and the portion was tiny , and my other friend had dhal which she said had no spices or flavour at all . The waitress was lovely and cheerful though so that's a star for her .

Very disappointed, half the hotel was closed and to access the rest of the hotel the carpark had to be used. Not very safe or practical with a family and a newborn in a pram trying to navigate the carpark with cars and stairs. Once we got to our room, was further disappointed that the room was run down with ware marks on all the walls and doors. The room had very basic furniture.

Clean, beautifully appointed apartment and very friendly staff combined with the stunning lagoon pool made this a memorable weekend. Its proximity to the ferry terminal means you can have a car free break. The bar and dining room are also all you need.

Best resort at Nelly Bay

Best location, Peppers is located right next to the ferry terminal at Nelly Bay Marina. Supermarket and bottle shop also there for any supplies. Our apartment was very well resourced and cleaned to perfection. Friendly staff and great bar & restaurant. Choice of pools. Highly recommend.

Nice Resort, Disappointing Room & Service

The room was above reception, very noisy because of the wharf. The room was very dated, old furniture, you couldnt sit on the sofa comfortably no support. The bed was uncomfortable, just two singles pushed together, pillows far too high. The decor was dark and old, vinyl and old carpet. The bathroom was old, the hair dryer was broken, the bin wasn't clean.
