On arrival the grounds and the views across the lake from reception are lovely. That's where it stopped, our room, especially upstairs was tiny, had to leave our luggage down stairs, the furnishings are out dated, some of the lamps/lights did not work, and the lock latch on the entrance door was broken!! The breakfast buffet was not good, so much needed re-filling, no glasses, no coffee/tea cups and the coffee/hot water machine was out of water, (the staff member said it should be thrown out), lots of tables had not been cleared, staff were unfriendly, no greeting, no smiling!! Would we stay again NO, would we recommend NO. Such a disappointment, when you pay the extra dollars, one would expect better!!

Not up to the standard I have come to epect of Peppers facilities.

In making this review I know the resort will come bck with their standard style of response - These are standard hotel rooms designed for SLEEP and GO use. That wasn't made obvious to me on the All Accor website when I made the booking prior to my trip. Now to the room itself... I'd describe it as a 3 star room that received a bit of tart up 5 or 10 yers ago. The room was filled with a kingsize bed (that was reasonable comfortable) What can I say about the bathroom, the floor tiles are a dirt magnet, there is no way they could be presented in a clean state. In addition the flexible shower hose was coming apart at the hand hed end. There was a significant (mould?) stain in the shower that hinted to a lack of care in the cleaning of the room, as did the dust in the area of the bedhead. Making the best of a bad lot I headed to the restaurant for a meal, and somehow ended up with two mains rather than an entree and a main. Back to the room and was confronted with a DARK gravel car park and UNLIT walkway to the room. At the very least this is an OH&S issue. Now in the room I went to adjust the temperature of the Air Conditioner. NO that's not happening, the remote batteries were dead flat. NEXT the tv remote was awol, good job I travel with my own way of accessing entertainment. During the night I woke to a room over hot. without a way od adjusting the AirCon the only solution was the opening window. Finally achieved a temperature compatible with sleeping. The only other issue I had was the paper thin walls allowing for transmission of converstion from the adjoining room. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but after staying at Mount Cook and Invercargill in luxury accmmodation the contrast in standards was extreme.

Our room was lovely and cam equipped with everything - kitchen including a dishwasher, full size refrigerator. The bedroom was upstairs with a beautiful bath with a heated floor. There was a patio downstairs and a balcony upstairs with a view of the lake and the brilliant night sky. Our only regret was that we found this place at the end of our vacation and we were only able to stay one night.

Absolutely gorgeous setting

Lovely room with amazing views both night and day. The only problem was my parking spot outside my room was taken and I had to park far away. But food was good for dinner. The Salmon was delicious as was dessert. I enjoyed my amenity of lively local produce.

Great location and very comfortable bed. Parking was plentiful and convenient. I’ve seen others complain that their standard room was “too small” but truly we were quite comfortable and had everything we needed. We don’t travel to sit in our room. When I travel, I look for clean, comfortable and, above all, well located. Pepper’s Blue Water Resort checked all the boxes.
