An absolutely beautiful stay at Mantra Lorne. Starting from check in to check out, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were sensational and the quality of food, wines & cocktails was brilliant. The staff across the Mantra could not do more for us - Thank you

We got together for a milestone birthday and we had excellent service from booking with Daniel then throughout our stay. Excellent service and accommodation for our three families. A perfect spot for a winter sitting by the fire in the evening tasting cocktails and catching up

Enjoyable short stay

We booked three rooms and had a short 2 day stay at Mantra Lorne. The property is quite large with many rooms as well as a pool, tennis court and other activities available. We were booked into the one bedroom ocean-view apartment which included a kitchen and lounge area. Room was comfortable and there was a washer dryer outside our front door. Room was good but it does require a refresh. We did have ocean views partially obstructed by foliage but could hear the waves crashing. The propertyt is absolute beachfront with no road in between. Just a short walk across the road are many restaurants and shops as well as lorne hote. About a 10 minute walk away is Foodworks for grocery suppolies. Breakfast was good with lots of options and runs from 7-10am. They offer a great happy hour from 4-5pm at Larder with discounted drinks and bites. Overall a very good stay.

The hotel was good overall. However, they need to pay more attention to cleaning, particularly ensuring that walls and floor corners are vacuumed properly. Other than that, breakfast was good, although the restaurant had limited options for dinner.

Great Winter Getaway at a bargain price

Really enjoyed the stay at Lorne over the first week of the school holidays. We had a dual keyed room, and enjoyed the space of the two interconnecting rooms, perfect for teenagers, and a larger family. The kids enjoyed the location of the resort next to the beach, as well as the Pool, Gym, Tennis courts, etc. Given the winter weather, there was adequate activities to keep them entertained. It would be great to have some additional indoor activities like a games room with pool table. I also see a great opportunity for a basketball court (or half court) in the adjacent lawn area to the tennis court. This is a good opportunity to allow kids that didn't want to play tennis, to try their hand at an alternative sport. Also, good use of space for the old, grassed tennis court that is no longer in use. Buffet Breakfast was enjoyable, however was overcrowded and buffet area was dimly lit with poor lighting which made the rooms dark in the mornings, Due to the overcrowding, dining room was always full, and we had to sit in the overflow room every morning which was cold and lacked ambiance. Dinner options were great and thought that the themed nights added to the stay, and encouraged you to eat at the resort, to take advantage of happy hour with cheap drinks and pizzas. During dinner in the restaurant, given the number of staff that were on during our stay (I think I counted 7 in the dining room and bar area), I thought that the service was below standard, and often had to ask for top ups of table water, waiting long periods of time to be waited on to order drinks and food. The food was also at standard, and enjoyed the Steak one night, which was lovely, however we also ordered a Seafood Pie, which was far from a pie, and think was misleading. Should have been called or renamed to a Creamy Seafood Bisque - a classic creamy and smooth highly seasoned soup, rather than a Pie, as it did not have any pastry or a hardened top.
