Comfortable hotel in convenient location to Constitution Dock, Salamanca markets and the CBD

A comfortable quiet hotel, located a couple of blocks away from the Elizabeth St shopping mall, the harbour with its bars and restaurants and the Saturday Salamanca farmers and crafts markets. Due to the building's unique shape, the rooms are not your standard square/rectangle box but have interesting angles with full length windows (none opening unfortunately but the air conditioning system makes up for the lack). We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's ground floor cafe (not the usual full hot buffet of Accor hotels) ordering exactly what we wanted from the menu. Food here, as we found throughout Hobart, is made with fresh ingredients and tastes more fresh than on the mainland, and at reasonable prices. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, Reception being staffed with two concierges always. Our suite came with a fully stocked kitchen (cutlery, crockery, pots, pans) which was greatly appreciated as we could acquire Chinese takeway from a nearby restaurant and bring it "home" for a relaxed dinner in front of the TV. The bathroom was of generous size and there appears to be a free guest laundry on level 1 (though I didn't go to inspect it, nor need to use it). Owing to the solid construction of the building, there is very little noise from adjacent rooms or the lifts. The hotel is directly opposite the large Royal Hobart Hospital and, honestly, the sounds of arriving ambulances was not as intrusive as expected.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a 1 bedroom “executive” apartment. Poor value for money. There is a discounted parking rate of $18/day next door. Our room needs painting (dirty), the sofa was odd, the veneer was chipped from the wooden chair. There was mold where the glass shower wall meets the floor. Not what I expected given the cost. Staff at reception was very efficient and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and the location convenient.

Posizione centrale a due passi dal molo e dalla zona di Salamanca street. Spartano come la maggior parte degli hotel australiani. Servizio reception efficiente. Stanze pulite, ed ordinate. Buona la connessione

Per il mio soggiorno ad Hobart ho cercato per giorni, senza mai essere troppo convinto di nessuna scelta. Alla fine opto per il Mantra Collins e devo dire che non me ne sono pentito affatto. Hotel ampiamente rinnovato, belle camere, grandi e pulite. Personale cordialissimo e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. Per il parcheggio hanno una convenzione con un multipiano li vicino, comunque comodo. Non ho provato la colazione. La gentilezza alla reception è stata tale da avermi offerto la wi-fi per l'intero soggiorno (10$). Consigliatissimo!
