Lage: In Shoreditch, knapp 10 Gehminuten vom U-Bahnhof Bethnal Green, auf der Central Line. Der Umsteigebahnhof Liverpool Street ist nur eine Station entfernt, somit ist man schnell im Stadtzentrum und auch am Eurostar-Bahnhof St Pancras. Das Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstraße, ist also nicht ruhig. Die Gegend erinnert an Berlin-Kreuzberg oder -Mitte kurz nach dem Mauerfall: ein paar schön renovierte Häuser, viele heruntergekommene. Zahlreiche kreative Projekte und urbane Hipster. Und nebenan Armut und echtes Elend. Als allein reisende Frau wäre mir der Weg zwischen Hotel und Bahnstation im Dunklen unangenehm. Zimmer: Klein und zweckmäßig, aber nett gemacht. Es gibt einen Kühlschrank, Klimaanlage, die Fenster kann man kippen und nachts gut verdunkeln. Eine „europäische „ Steckdose ist vorhanden, ebenso eine USB-Buchse. Man muss also nicht unbedingt mit Adapter reisen. Es gibt keinen Kleiderschrank, sondern eine kleine Stange mit ein paar Kleiderbügeln. Wäsche kann man in kleinen Körbchen im Regal verstauen. Für längere Aufenthalte vermutlich nicht geeignet. Bad: Klein, modern und zweckmäßig. Walk-in shower von guter Größe. Ablagefläche ist vorhanden. Es gibt keine Steckdose im Bad, was ein Problem ist, falls man sich trocken rasiert. Eine Steckdose (hier braucht man einen Adapter) befindet sich außerhalb des Badezimmers, wo auch ein Föhn angebracht ist. Restaurant/Frühstück: Das Hotel hat ein öffentliches Restaurant und eine Bar. Das Frühstücksbuffet beinhaltet Filterkaffee, Tee, Wasser, Säfte. Wer Cappuccino, Latter o.ä. möchte, bekommt dies mit Aufpreis. Das Buffet ist sehr umfangreich (English & Continental) und gut. Personal/Service: Das Personal ist jung, eher hip und nicht übermäßig freundlich. Also nicht vergleichbar mit großen internationalen Hotelketten. Wenn man sie jedoch direkt anspricht oder eine Bitte hat, bekommt man Hilfe. Achtung: Beim Einchecken werde 50£ pro Nacht als „Garantie“ auf der Kreditkarte geblockt. Angeblich wird der Betrag ein paar Tage nach der Abreise wieder freigegeben. Glauben Sie kein Wort. Auch fast 2 Wochen nach Abreise ist der Betrag noch immer geblockt, entsprechende Mails an das Hotel werden vom Personal ignoriert. Eine Erklärung gibt es nicht. Sollten Sie also ein Kreditkartenlimit haben und noch weitere Ausgaben im Reisemonat vorsehen, sollten Sie gut planen. In dem Fall kann ich das Hotel nicht empfehlen.

Bland de bästa hotellen jag varit på i London i förhållande till pris dessutom. London är ju inte känt för den höga standarden på hotell direkt. Denna överraskade stort. Ett luftigt modernt, personligt designat hotell med trevlig personal, snygga stora rum ( möjligtvis hårda sängar), bra frukost med stort utbud och dessutom riktigt bra ( för att vara hotell) restaurang.
