Very disappointing stay

Spent 4 nights at the hotel 25/07-29/07 and was very disappointed. Not central at all, difficult walk from the station. My executive room was rather dark, poorly lit and cold. The outside of the hotel looked very shabby. Not good value for money. My advice, book a much cheaper hotel near the chateau. Positive points: good breakfast, very courteous, pleasant staff and good if you need a car park.

Our visit to the hotel was very disappointing as we had to wait an hour to check in time as the room was not ready despte us arriving after 15:00! When we initially complained, we were offered a drink of our choice and when we selected wine were told we could not have it as it was too expensive and we could have a soft drink only. The staff said it was not the hotels fault the room was not ready, which as the room are cleaned by the hotel staff I found this informationsurprising! There were also no supervisors or managers on duty at the weekend, and therefore, no one was able to resolve our complaint. The swimming pool, despite being small, was very popular, meaning there was no space even just to stand! The breakfast was ok, although none of the hot food was hot. The hotel does have a secure car park, which is an extra despite it being next to council car park, which did not charge whilst we were staying, which the hotel staff denied when asked. On a positive the hotel is easy walking distance to the city centre.

On the outside it looks old and worn out, but it’s so much better than for instance le Pommes D’ or in La Charité-sur-Loire (don’t ever go there!!!) The friendly atmosphere and willingness’s to help was very good. The petit dejeunier was nice but not to write about. For a night it’s okay

We stayed at this hotel two nights. Room was very comfortable, bed, pillows and linens all lovely. Staff at reception and bar were extremely friendly and very helpful. We had the small breakfast the first morning which consisted of sitting in the reception area with juice, coffee, yoghurt, breads with jam, honey and chocolate spread. The second morning a complete disaster, we decided to have the complete buffet breakfast, which of course is more expensive. The two coffee machines did not work and it took about 4 members of staff to try and fix one of them which took about 25 minutes. There was no yoghurt left we were told, a small amount of scrambled eggs remained, no bread except sliced bread for toast and only 3 croissants left! Of course we complained and didn’t have to pay! But our point is that no matter what time you arrive for breakfast be it 7.30 or 9. 30 you should have equal choice of items as it costs the same! I hope this bio gel takes this onboard!

This hotel was pretty good comparing to our experience in Paris. Location was good. Public parking is recommended. Don't pay 13 Euros to the hotel. Public parking next to it is just 8.50 per day and only for hours when you use it. Thus, it will be much cheaper. If you leave at 9AM and park at 6PM or between 12PM and 2PM - it is free. Staff was OK but not very friendly. We had a small fridge and a kettle. Tea and coffee available but you have to ask for it since service not always put it. Overall, it is a good hotel in the heart of Blois.
