Nice hotel in the heart of Blois

This hotel was pretty good comparing to our experience in Paris. Location was good. Public parking is recommended. Don't pay 13 Euros to the hotel. Public parking next to it is just 8.50 per day and only for hours when you use it. Thus, it will be much cheaper. If you leave at 9AM and park at 6PM or between 12PM and 2PM - it is free. Staff was OK but not very friendly. We had a small fridge and a kettle. Tea and coffee available but you have to ask for it since service not always put it. Overall, it is a good hotel in the heart of Blois.

Visiting Bloise for the very first time from Australia I was excited to visit. I have to complement the staff on a very well maintained, clean, beautiful food and above all exceptional customer service. It was actually the actions of one of the receptionist staff that inspired me to write a review. Late one evening with no one in sight I observed her cleaning the reception, wiping doors, under ledges that were hidden from view. Her name was Marion and she demonstrated her commitment Novotel’s values, specifically ‘Integrity’!!! Integrity to me is how you behave when no one is watching!! Novotel is very lucky to have such professional staff, that exhibit such behaviours. Very inspiring!

Air conditioning, garden and a pool.

We stayed here for a few nights during very hot weather and were grateful for the air conditioning in the rooms and for the swimming pool which was small but a perfect temperature to cool off in. The hotel is just on the edge of town, a very pleasant 15 minute walk to the centre and if the climb back up the hill is a challenge there is a free. ‘Navette’ bus that does a circuit of the city centre and stops just outside the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the bar staff and the cleaning team. We always got a smile and a ‘Bonjour’ I’d love to be able to give a higher score as I did like the hotel but there were a few issues. Firstly the mattress was made of foam and very squishy so we didn’t sleep well at all. Secondly, breakfast was a bit of a stressful experience- the buffet area is too small and poorly laid out so guests are falling over each other trying to get to the food and it’s a bit of a bun fight. The breakfast room itself is hot and noisy but you do have the option of taking your breakfast out to the garden which we did each morning as it was a much calmer place to eat and to start the day. Finally, on a couple of occasions we came back to the room at about 3pm to find it had still not been cleaned so we had to ask for clean towels etc. this is no criticism of the cleaning staff as they were working flat out but they obviously need to employ more cleaners to manage all the rooms.

The hotel was nice and staff was helpful. Good, efficient elevators. As said before, the Wi-Fi is awful. They might as well not have it. Others have complained about the internet, so, either, they cannot upgrade services or choose not to do so. Also, hotel not is a great location.

The hotel had nice features like the breakfast (adequate), pool, courtyard, and board games. However things were looking a little tired, particularly the hallways. Room could have been cleaner also…curtains had stains on them, bathtub/shower needed some caulking, something looked like it had been splashed on the back of the bathroom door and not cleaned up.
