My wife, our two kids, and lots of luggage were struggling in the hallway. Penny kindly escorted us and pushed our heavy suitcases to our room. Her service was exceptional and much appreciated!

As there are no airside hotels at the airport this is probably one of the nearest options.

We had a 20+ hour overnight layover so decided to stay at a hotel for the night. Baiyun airport doesn't have a hotel airside so you have to go through passport control. This is slow but not too painful and we were issued with a 24 hour transit visa. Because of the proximity of the hotel, taxis won't take you and it is too far to walk so you have to use the shuttle bus. This added to the amount of time taken to get from the flight to the hotel as we had a 20 minute wait. The hotel itself is what you would expect, a very busy non-descript pack 'em in type place. The staff did what was needed and nothing more. As this was my first time here I had picked this hotel as it had access to the metro and I thought I may take a trip either into Guangzhou or at least somewhere off the airport grounds for dinner. The concierge provided me a map and little else and made it sound like I was asking to conquer the North face of the Eiger in flip-flops. By the time he had finished with the tooth sucking and heavy breathing we were sapped of energy and ate in the hotel restaurant. One word of advice... Don't. It is a very expensive very poor quality buffet that is mayhem. The room was comfortable and the best part of the experience. The following morning the shuttle bus was full and several of us were left standing and we had to wait whilst the staff frantically arranged another one. But arrange one they did, and we were transported to the airport in time. In short, stay because you have no choice.

Location wise the hotel is good for transit passengers. But the hotel is really old. No force for water in the bathrooms, the AC is not cold and they provided a fan for me to sleep. The temperature outside is cold, but inside the hotel you need a proper air-conditioning to keep the air comfortable.

Five star for the hardware and 1 star for the service. Please choose another hotel if u travel with lots of luggage or family members needing help, or arrives at mid night, because the service of the hotel is in chaos. We reserved individual private pick up service as my husband arrives at T3 around midnight. And no one showed up. When I called the hotel reception, the answer t it was cancelled. They never provided an answer till today how it was cancelled out of thin air. As a result my husband arrived at the hotel at 3 am. As T3 takes 20 minutes by car…..they also refused to refund the room cost, a room only used for 5 hours as the connecting flight is next dat noon. It seems to me that they are struggling with personnel with experience. And maybe also the workload. The room is comfortable and the location is close to airport. But if u need some quality service in your transit, be cautious. For me, I will never choose this hotel again.
