It garnered an award for best luxury hotel and best spa resort in China during the 2007 China Hotel Starlight award ceremony. We stayed 3 nights at Banyan tree Lijiang, the hotel is very conveniently located, 7 minutes walk to ShuHe ancient town and 15 minute ride to DaYan ancient town. The hotel had a beautiful view of the Yu Long snow mountain, we can even see the morning sunshine on the mountain from our bed. Our service rep Nancy took good care of us during our stay, she helped us got the tickets for YuLong mountain cableway and arranged car services during our stay. The hotel’s buffet breakfast is wonderful, lots of great choices. Our jet pool room is wonderful, the private soup is so nice and hot, we love to soak in every night and watch the stars. A wonderful stay at Banyan tree Lijiang. I am so happy I chose this hotel over the others.

Great hotel with a lot of hearts

Beautiful hotel with heart. We stayed there for 4 nights, there were so many activities for kids and staff are so thoughtful! We learnt about succulent, make aroma candle, fed the rabbits and fishes and the staff made us feel at home! Nancy was great, she is super patient with us and also give us great advice where to go with kids. With every activity, we feel that the staff is very proud of working at banyan and very caring to their guests! We went to la shi hai, and bai sha per their recommendation. It’s a wonderful stay and we will be back.

Amazing Views, Fantastic Service, Calming Ambiance

We were here only for a night and the hotel lived up to the hype of tranquility and with amazing views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. We booked the mountain view room and got a glimpse of the sunrise hitting the mountain. Room was complete with amenities, buggy service was fast, and the hospitality was great - the staff go out of their way to help you book attractions especially for foreigners with no China phone number. The breakfast was ok but not amazing compared to similar hotels in Thailand and Indonesia. The hotel is a ways away from the city center (~30 mins) but is enroute to the main attractions like the Jade Dragon & Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic sites. It is also about half a kilometer away from the Shuhe Old Town which makes for a good afternoon stroll and a local meal. Prices are marked like a 5-star hotel and the Banyan Tree Lijiang does not disappoint.

Great service, especially from Abby who checked us in on 9 July. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable, and answered our questions with patience while giving us helpful suggestions on activities and transportation. We were upgraded to a spacious duplex which was a nice surprise. The free costume photo shoot (free 5 photos) was a great experience, and the beautifully touched up photos were so delightful that we ended up buying the additional 10 photos package. Don't miss the small vegetable farm on the hotel grounds which has helpful signs to tell you the names of the plants. Very enjoyable stay!

Beautiful stay in a peaceful side of Lijiang

Had a splendid 3-night stay at Banyan Tree Lijiang with my husband, for my 30th birthday. The hotel was nested in the quiet corner of Lijiang, a 3 min drive or 15 min walk to Shuhezhen, 15 min drive to Baishazhen, 20-30 mins drive from Lijiang Old Town, and right at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. Service staff from bellboys, front office, F&B, to back of house staff (housekeepers) were the most pleasant bunch of people, welcoming one at every touch points. Our villa was upgraded upon arrival and the hotel had arranged cake and room decor, knowing it was my birthday. Turn down service was also very nice touch after a long day out touring Lijiang. While one could notice the villa and its amenities were slightly dated, the surrounding view and impeccable service compensated our experience. A special mention to Betty and Miki, whom we had the pleasure of having them as our spa therapists. They worked on our taut muscles and we were completely relaxed after our session. That night, we fell asleep like babies on our bed. Lijiang and Banyan Tree Lijiang left us in awe, and we can’t wait to be back.
