Staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable every experience was incredible. Saffron is the best restaurant and the food is really nice, buffet breakfast is awesome too amazing selection of local and international foods.

Amazing destination for retreat. You don't have to worry about activities and just spend the time in the room relaxing with the Jacuzzi and breathtaking view. Service was impeccable, staff was attentive and welcoming. Hope that there will be option for cheaper food alternatives as it mostly consist of restaurants

Everything from the service to food is what I have heard about Banyan Tree! Upon reaching the ferry terminal, the ushers and car driver attended to us were friendly (no hard-selling, left us alone without bombarding too many questions). We were greeted with the sounding of a gong by 3 smiling staff, and introduced to Dwi who handled our check-in professionally—She went through the nooks and crannies of the resort and its offerings within 12 minutes; the check-in and introduction had been succinct and smooth. Soyvan then sent us to our villa in a buggy. The team surprised me thrice for my birthday—I had a mini chocolate cake, an embroidered “HBD” white runner with leaves and flower petals across on the bed, a birthday song sang by the staff who showed us our villa, and slice of cake with candles. The 2nd surprise was the birthday gift in the form of a turtle shopping tote bag. Just when I felt grateful with all these birthday surprises, Likik, Daus and Darwis serenaded a birthday song to me (a cappella) in the patio of the villa decorated with tea lights and flower petals. We had some drinks by the pool and beach, and had all meals at Tree Top restaurant because we only stayed for a night. Tree Top serves delicious and high quality Indonesian cuisine. Their breakfast spread which consists of Indonesian dishes and Western dishes left us in awe too. I love that they include traditional Indonesian drinks like ginger, rice and tumeric which have no preservatives. I met Fandi, the manager; Amirah and chef Lastri specially prepared Nasi goreng with petai which was in season for me. Both Fandi and Amirah, as well as the rest of the crew were cheery towards all guests. I had more understanding of Indonesian cuisine from Amirah :). The same driver sent us to the ferry terminal after our check-out. The check-out was swift and we did not need to wait long for our car. The villa we stayed in was #119. If the weather is good, you would be able to see a beautiful sunset daily. The villa was well-ventilated, spacious and well-designed, donning Indonesian decor, ornaments and furniture, since we are in Bintan! We also love the mosquito net around the bed. The essentials are well maintained too. I now understand and fully experience the Banyan Tree hospitality and professionalism. The team is very dedicated and I sense they respect their roles a lot. These speak volume in my view, and I enjoy every minute of my short time there. Thank you to everyone we encountered during our stay! You have made us feel welcome and we were taken care of by all of you! We look forward to staying longer in future! Terima kasih and see you!

Beautiful hotel rooms and facilities. Very helpful staff and very easy to get in touch with through out the estate. Not so walkable but buggies are always available.
