We arrived on 16/04 and were greeted at the door by the bell boys. They took our bags and showed us to reception. We were offered a glass of bubbles and the kids had juice or water. The receptionist showed us where the amenities were ie bar, restaurant, spa and pool area. We had booked 3 double rooms for our stay. Unfortunately we booked the cheaper rooms which didn’t have the view of the sea. Knowing that now the view is definitely worth the up grade. One of the rooms had a problem with the shower not draining so we were offered a room move or them to fix it when they had the part. We were kept informed what was happening. The lobby bar is lovely and fresh with a pianist playing most evenings. Drinks were on the expensive side but I suppose when you book a high end hotel you expect to pay the prices. The rooms were very clean and the rooms made up every morning. The outside area was having a make over and taking a bit longer than expected due to poor weather which can’t be helped. Overall the hotel is in a great location with some of the best views a hotel can get. 100% would definitely stay here again if we came to Dubrovnik.

Just Returned, Me and my wife had a lovely time in the Rixos. Room 1311 overlooking the sea, fantastic views. The hotel is massive nice touches around at the minute, we especially liked the Easter bunny’s hidden in the plants 😀 Staff are great and very helpful. Always asking if we need anything or how our stay was. Outside area is currently having a refurb which will be nice in the summer. The Hotel is 15-20 mins walk away from the Pile gate of the old town, we walked it a few times a day. Walking trail up the mountain is the same about a mile to the path. Then a good mile and a half up hill. Great museum and views and the top. Thanks again, will we return 100% yes. Darren & Jo Moreton

Beautiful Views and Great Service, But Some Disappointing Issues

We recently stayed at Rixos Premium Dubrovnik for a short family break in April. Our experience was a real mix of positives and disappointments. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by reception, but the initial tour of the hotel was quite limited. We weren't shown how to access several facilities, and later found that some areas were difficult to navigate because corridors were full of furniture — clearly in preparation for the reopening of the outdoor spaces. Although we had been informed that the outdoor pool was closed due to the cooler weather, we weren't made aware that the entire outdoor area was under construction. When we tried to access the sea area at the back of the hotel, we were surprised to find there were no signs or barriers in place — we were able to walk among broken slats, nails, tools, and other construction debris without being challenged by any staff. It felt unsafe and poorly managed, especially for families. That said, the views from the hotel were absolutely spectacular and really made the location feel special. The restaurant staff, in particular, were outstanding — always friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. A real highlight was how wonderfully the chefs looked after our daughter, who is vegetarian and cannot eat wheat. One of the chefs made her a special pizza on the first night and then prepared delicious vegan bao buns on the second evening, which she thoroughly enjoyed and deeply appreciated. The spa area deserves a special mention — it is truly on another level, luxurious and beautifully maintained. We only wish we had more time to make full use of it! Unfortunately, we did experience a problem with ants in our room late one evening. Housekeeping responded promptly and cleaned the room, but it was disappointing that we had to push for compensation rather than the hotel proactively offering a solution. That said, we did eventually receive compensation for the inconveniences we experienced, which we appreciated. Overall, despite the breathtaking views and outstanding restaurant and spa teams, there were a number of service and safety issues that took the shine off what could have been a perfect stay. We would like to return in the future, but would hope for better communication, management, and completion of all works before then.
