Novotel Ulaanbaatar 4 ดาว

I stayed at Novotel for 7 nights while in Ulaanbaatar. Here is a breakdown of Novotel: Staff: The absolute best part is the friendly and accommodating staff at the hotel. They were all wonderful and fun to socialize with. They made my stay enjoyable for sure. Breakfast: Once again the staff were so wonderful at breakfast. The latte they made every morning for me was solid. The breakfast was average. Not bad, not amazing, but good enough. I think more options would go along way but Mongolian Cuisine Culture in general, breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day, so I guess I don’t expect it. Gym & Pool: this area was great. They have a full gym with treadmills, free and machine weights, large pool, sauna, steam room, etc. I used it just about everyday. Rooms: This is where Novotel needs to address the biggest flaw which is no air conditioning. I e never been to a “higher end” hotel with no air conditioning. I don’t care if it’s minus 1000 degrees outside, that does me no good in my room and if I open the window, I’ll smell like burnt coals for my entire stay. If I book here again, I need to know that this is addresses. Other than that, the room is spacious, clean, well appointed, and has comfortable beds. Overall a great hotel but just the Air conditioning needs to be addressed.

It was an okay stay. Nothing much to talk about. Room was fine. Staff was okay We did not try any of the restaurants. We had room service one night. Food was okay - nothing much to talk about. Location is the best however. 5-10 mins walk to sukhbaatar square.

Great solution booked with good deal. Modern, clean, 10-15min walking distance from main square and Seul street. Very good value. All comforts, nice gym and pool, good breakfast and last but not least very kind staff. A special thank to Caty!

The hotel is in a great location and meets all the required standards. F&B however needs some serious work, Front of house is letting back of house down in an astounding manner.. i have 30 years of fine dining / hotel experience and i have never seen a front of house team so inept. The waiter didn't know what a Cabernet Sauvignon was even after i pointed it out on the wine list. Entree plates were not removed, empty glasses were not removed, no up sell on the empty glasses on the table. An empty restaurant and yet 3 staff sitting around / standing chatting amongst themselves. The waiter had no idea what Al dente meant. The food that was served was excellent, would be happy to eat it anywhere in the world.. if only it could get to the table hot.. apparently with three staff on serving the one and only table with clients is too challenging. Duvin could be and should be packed every night, someone needs to take charge, and sack whomever is currently in charge.

Very nice novotel and well maintained located walking distance to all major tourist site including the main square. I was upgraded to high floor. Rooms are spacious and staff are very friendly trying their best. Breakfast buffet is correct
