We went to this hotel last week. The transportation from the airport is like 1.5 hrs. Beautiful hotel! Great service. Clean amenities. We had teenagers and a 4 year old with us. I wish the kiddie pool had more features though.

Sea jungle, beautiful place. Unique. Comfort all the way. Several eating options.very expensive though.5 delicious pools. Infinite breakfast.all rooms look towards the beach.walking trails. Nice ocean water not the best but good enough

Sofitel Baru Casablanca delivers all it promises. 5 star hotel with all the amenities you can get. “Service fee” vs tip can be messy to understand, and suggest you pay 10% of all your bill as “service fee” that is supposedly split among all members of the staff. However, every single tab you open in a bar or a restaurant also adds to the bill another 10% “service fee” plus a space for a voluntary tip. You can of course opt out of those things, but that is a bit of a hassle. More transparency and clear policies, including a written description of how those fees and tips work in the benefit of workers would be advisable. In any case, food was great and the breakfast is 1000%. The room is super comfortable and quiet. The beach is beautiful. But above all, the kindness of the staff is unbeatable. It made all the difference and made our life way easier than one could expect! Shout out and thanks to the following folks: At the pool, William, Gustavo and Ignacio. At the reception, Christian and Abraham. At the restaurant, Said, Juan and Mathieu.

I am in the process of completing a 1 night stay at the Sofitel Baru. First let me share the positives: - The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The beach is expansive and private. The 4 pools upscale and nicely placed around the property. The rooms very comfortable with nice bedding, space and a high end bathroom. - The staff have all been very nice and kind. - Creative food options spread around the property, which includes a food truck on the beach! - Great spa and fitness center! I’d be happy to workout in the gym here every day, it was very nice. There are just a few small details which this hotel could improve upon to make it the true five-star experience: - Check in. It was painfully slow and took me a 30 minute wait with only 5 people ahead of me - there must be a faster way. - Rooms on the ground floor. I’m not sure why I didn’t get a room with a better view, but I stared into green plants and couldn’t see the ocean/beach, yet paid for a room with a view. Plus people looked into my room as they walked by. - Breakfast service. While it is included and is an expansive buffet-I waited too long to get seated. When a couple arrived after me, after I had been standing there waiting for what felt like 5-10 minutes, the host ignored me and was going to seat the couple before me, because they spoke Spanish and I didn’t. Then when I got seated, I was given no menu and nobody helped me or came over to ask if I wanted coffee, tea or a mimosa. I was ignored and not waited on for the 45 minutes I sat at my table. - Lastly, I wanted to do an afternoon kayak or paddleboard tour but was told a minimum of 4 people was needed. As a solo traveler, I couldn’t just imagine 3 friends to join me, so I never got to do it. Overall this is a nice property, but some things should be improved to truly put it in the luxury category. If you are visiting Cartagena and want a more relaxing upscale retreat on the beach, then a visit here is worth that. Just know there are some little service areas that can be improved upon.

Das (neue) Hotel verfügt über sehr schöne, saubere und bestens ausgestattete Zimmer mit schönster Aussicht auf das Meer. Auch der Strand ist wunderschön und sauber. Leider gab es zu viele große Steinbrocken im Meer, wo sich unsere Begleitung gar eine tiefe Wunde am Fuss zugezogen hat. Der Service im Hotel ist exzellent. Das Frühstücksbüffet bietet eine sehr große Auswahl (einzelne warme Speisen waren jedoch bereits kalt). Die Restaurants sind gut, wobei an einzelnen Tagen geschlossen. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist der katastrophale Zustand der erdigen Zufahrtsstraße zum Hotel. Alles in allem hatten wir aber einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Wir können das Hotel sehr weiterempfehlen.
