I booked a stay for 4 nights at the Alice Springs location. During the first evening, the air con unit, which is directly over the head of the bed, started to leak. It woke me up in the middle of the night. I was able to plug the leak temporarily but not able to use the pillows as they had gotten wet. The next morning I advised the front desk - asking to have the unit repaired and the linens changed. When I got back to my room that evening, the linens had not been changed. I went to the front desk and asked for new pillows. I was told they would delivered. They were not. That evening (second evening of my stay), the air con unit leaked again - this time in a significant amount. I was woken at 3 am and not able to get back to sleep. I again advised the front desk and was told maintenance would check the aircon unit and the linens would be changed. None of these happened by late afternoon so I asked to change rooms. I had to move all my belongings and got a much smaller room for the next two nights. When I asked the front desk for compensation for losing two nights sleep and getting a smaller room then I had booked, I was offered dinner in the restaurant. After much back and forth I got only one evening comped. I was incredibly disappointed that a hotel such as the Mercure would not see fit to compensate me for not being able to sleep comfortably to two nights and for not following through on service. I am not inclined to book the Mercure again on any travels or to recommend it to any friends or family.

3 day work visit. Have stayed before and location works well for me. All meals adequate with evenings being hot. Breakfasts did not hold a good temperature but food was tasty
