Very nice Hotel, the service is very good to. cosy room, not so big but nice. The restaurant is very good to with good food options and very good service. Breakfast very complete with sevreal options. Location not the best

My first choice mid range 4 star hotel is mostly Mercure as I’m a an Accor member, and I can say this hotel is one of the best I stayed in around the world, the front desc staff were very helpful, she even helped me set up my Ukrainian Mobil number, as well as upgrading my room to privilege then to deluxe which is cool the only down side is the breakfast, I expected to see some specific Ukrainian specialities let say Syrniki not the boring Croissant 😊 The area is is ok, around 3 km to the city center the hotel is in a new complex shopping Mall and close the red line Metro station with a lots of take away and working class vibes If I’m back to Kyiv the hotel will be my choice but without breakfast 🙈

I stayed in Mercure Congress hotel in Kiev between 15-19 August 2021. We made our reservation through the Agoda website. Staff at the Reception are there with a completely unprofessional local mentality. Especially your staff named SOPIIA. She can't understand or speak English well, speaks in a slurred anger and never tries to solve any problems. Talking to an angry person all the time makes one think about where I've fallen. She was pretending to ask people why did you come here. When entering the hotel, one hopes that SOPIIA will not be there. For the first time in my life, I was getting stressed when entering a hotel. Although Mercure is your higher class hotel, I would definitely prefer the Ibis hotel. We are very regretful that we did not choose another hotel in Kiev. It was also written on the Agoda site that city taxes were included in the price. But they also took cash from me at the hotel (for every day). Maybe this part is Agoda's fault, I'm not sure about that.

Tourist tax in Kyiv is 24 hryvnias per day for Ukrainian tourists and 60 hryvnias for foreigners. Ik kom hier een keer of 5 per jaar. Personeel is altijd behulpzaam. Je kunt er prima eten. En met een Uber taxi ben je voor minder dan €5 in het centrum. Taxiservice vanaf de airport is echt excellent. Maar wel een stuk duurder dan een Uber. Ontbijt is uitstekend. De inrichting is wel donker en de matrassen zijn keihard. Dat zijn eigenlijk de enige min puntjes. Ik heb het niet beoordeeld als toerist want dan zou de locatie misschien nog een minpuntje kunnen zijn.

Voor de eerste keer hier geslapen. 5 nachten op 'n bed geslapen met 'n goedkoop matras, de toplaag van het matras is te dun, je voelt de metalen veren aan de oppervlakte. Dit geeft bij 'n zwaarder lichaamsgewicht rugpijn. Tip, leg 'n extra dun matras op de originele matras dat voelt beter. ik heb dit geprobeerd met het dekbed waaronder je slaapt. Voel stukken beter. Nog beter is 'n kwaliteits matras. Het gebied waar dit hotel in ligt is niet 't beste gedeelte van Kiev, weinig keuze aan restaurants, wel 'n shopping mall met weinig publiek. het naast gelegen Cosmopolit restaurant heeft wel 'n goede keuken. Het ontbijt in het hotel is veel te duur voor wat er vers geboden wordt. De brood toaster werkt pas na 5 keer toasten, de voorraden wordt op het buffet worden niet tijdig of mondjesmaat bijgevuld, zodat je lang moet wachten op oatmeal, wat dan alleen aangevuld wordt met warme melk zonder enige vaste bestanddelen. Verder is de verscheidenheid aan brood ver te zoeken, wit toastbrood alleen, geen bruin en wat niet vers stokbrood wit. Voor de gevraagde prijs van 450 UAH kun je bij veel andere hotels wat meer krijgen. Als je voor het ontbijt naar het ernaast gelegen restaurant Cosmopolit gaat wordt je terug naar het hotel gestuurd, terwijl men hier ook ontbijt serveert. Misschien 'n afspraak met het hotel??
