Did its job, in two minds about the hotel. Modern and new hotel, nice spacious rooms

I am in two minds about this hotel. On one hand, the hotel is very modern and the rooms are very spacious, peaceful and quiet. The gym is very good, but it closes earlier than I would have liked. The staff and the manager tries hard to please their guests but at times, I felt it was understaffed. They have the same front desk staff servicing the bar and restaurant - I found that a bit bizarre and hence they could not always attend to both groups of customers. My room was ready when I had an early arrival which was greatly appreciated. The hotel was a bit basic for a four star hotel. I think it is more of a three star hotel. For example, they charge for basic things like hotel slippers which surprised me greatly. I have stayed at many four star hotels around the world and around Europe and nobody charges for slippers and maybe in France 'four star' means something different to other European countries but I felt this hotel was a bit stingy. It was modern, nice and new, and pleasant, but it felt more like a 'budget' hotel. I am not sure if there are that many modern hotels in Colmar. It may be that the choices are limited and the town is not used to modern hotel services. It is very close to the Old Town but not to supermarkets - you would need a car for that (or walk to the closest one about 15 mins away, but on Sunday everything is closed). Fresh bakeries are nearby but close early, especially Sundays. Would I stay here again? Maybe, not sure. I just felt there was a bit of resistance met by the staff whenever I asked about something compared to other hotels on my trip. The price was reasonable.

We had a great stay at Novotel Suites Colmar Centre🌿 The room was super clean, friendly staff (Madame Michaela, super nice), and a perfect location in the city center. Highly recommend 🇫🇷 🚘Parking lot available (paid), but make sure to book in advance.

A new building. Spacious clean rooms. Comfy beds. Hairdryer, kettle, fridge, microwave, coffee machine.air con. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Eco-conscious. 5-10 mins walk from Petite Venice and the old town centre. About 15 mins walk from the railway station. A great place to stay

This is a really good quality hotel, right on the edge of historic Colmar, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The rooms are spacious and comfortable; ours had a separate toilet and bathroom (I am not sure if they are all like this), and reasonably good storage for clothes. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were pretty basic. The bathroom had a shower and a bathtub, as well as a sink, with shaving mirror - everything you could want! The decor was fresh, and everything worked as an expected. There is even a sink next to the tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is very good, with a good choice of hot and cold food; the bread was especially good! The decor of the public spaces is particularly well thought out, and it is a nice place for a pre-dinner drink. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a parking garage with electric vehicle chargers. It is not a cheap hotel, but it is worth it! A really great place for a few days in Colmar, and highly recommended.

What a great hotel in a quiet but perfect location for accessing the old town. The hotel had modern, spacious rooms with good air conditioning. Everything was very clean. Nice touches like iced water machine and glass bottles in the lobby so you could take water up to your room or easily fill water bottles. A small shop downstairs selling both some local produce as well as snacks. Excellent buffet breakfast with good choices.
