New Hotel Tucked Away in a Quiet Neighborhood

This hotel seems to be fairly new, or at least recently renovated. One of the best interiors I've had of a Novotel in China. It is however, pretty far from everything, so best to have a car or be comfortable with taxi services. The neighborhood seems to be pretty upscale, with quite a few international schools nearby but I didn't really see any expats so it has a bit of a local vibe to it. The beach nearby is under heavy construction, so don't expect to use it. The pool was OK, but they had closed signs around it the entire time which I just dismissed. I've stayed twice here, and both times the staff were pretty friendly but do not speak English. So broken mandarin and translator will be needed.

The facilities are good. It was officially open in Dec 2018. It is at a far North East part of Hainan Haikou, a bit remote, should rent,a car to get there. The room I stayed was Deluxe Single Bed, withBalcony ans sea view, very good. A very nice pool, not yet open, with a very good gall for wedding. Staff there seemed not yet trained well to note this Accor Hotel items and declared that payment in Accor site not valid and should pay separately.

New ACCOR hotel in Hainan Island (Haikou)

Brand new hotel. Good service from front desk staff. Room and bathroom are of good size. More than 40 TV channels but only two English programme available (CNN and one other Channel). Coffee / tea and coffee mugs available in room but no tea spoon. I asked the cleaning lady for tea spoons and she said I have to get them from reception. It would be interesting to hear from the hotel on why no tea spoon is provided for making HOT coffee/tea. The aircon in room 333 is not cool. With the setting at 16C, the temperature is at most 24C. Hotel location is long way away from the city centre. You will need a car to get in and out of the hotel. The three days that I was there, I did not even see a taxi outside the hotel.

Bad restaurant

We came to visit this new hotel and to have lunch. We didn't stay to sleep there because of the bad impression given by the restaurant. Chairs were dirty, the floor under the tables had food rests. There were lots of mosquitoes in the dinning room. There were only 3 tables occupied, our order took more than one hour to be completed. For sure we will not come back to this hotel.

The hotel is a newly opened one. It provides the usual comfortable room design, bed, pillow and amenities that are available in Novotel series. The front desk reception and cashier are very cheerful and helpful. The Weichang chicken rice set in the coffee house is tasteful.
