Disappointment

As an Accor plus elite member, it was really a disappointment staying there. No upgrade, reason given was all rooms were fully booked. No lounge access, reason given was term and condition stated. Welcome drink, no red or white wine. Are you crazy, such a big hotel and you said don't have wine. Shame on you Fairmont Beijing. I was supposed to have another stay in the following week, but I cancelled it immediately. Good thing I have other better loyalty programs who honour their members way much better.

A great experience for me and the family. The hotel is located in the CBD, one block from the Guomao 国贸 station, near a couple 24h convenience stores and some cheap eats. The rooms were a little old like most Beijing hotels, but still comfortable and spacious- think 'old time confort'. Bedding was great, and unlike many northern Chinese hotels, the central heating wasn't too hot in winter. Fitness centre and pool were clean and well-appointed. Breakfast included good selection of both western and chinese choices. Staff very courteous and responsive to needs.

Looks luxurious from the outside, but feels like a motel once you’re inside. My room was outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. The air conditioner was loud enough to keep me awake, yet the heat was so weak I still felt cold. I even switched rooms, but the issues didn’t improve—so I suspect most rooms are in similar condition. The details were especially disappointing: dusty control panels, stained/dirty carpet, broken furniture, and a TV positioned in front of the bathtub—but no remote. For the same price, there are plenty of better options nearby. The only real positive is the location. Overall, I genuinely don’t understand why this property is included in American Express’s Luxury Collection. I regret booking it.

Great Hotel Staff, Poor Management

Front desk staff lovely, friendly and understands the role of being a host for hotel guests. Management however is a different story. Hope you don’t have a booking issue otherwise there is no resolution - waste of time. Booked through Accor app, cancelled a booking but still no refund of credit has been given despite cancelling within the free cancellation period. Management need to either improve their responsiveness themselves or have better communication channels with ACCOR ALL group.

After a long time, I was a little surprised to see the changes in Beijing, which were very important for a tourist or businessman. Now I will tell you what is very important to say or share about the hotel so that it is at least a little convenient for those who will visit Beijing like me. Although Fairmont Beijing was a new experience for me, there was no way to understand it because from the time of our arrival, many of the top team members were present until we left, the service of each team member was extraordinary and they made every effort to meet our needs at all times, especially early check-in, comfortable beds according to the requirements and our food was very important to them. Team Fairmont Beijing will meet in near future….
