Exceptional service but lacking atmosphere and charm

Our stay at Fairmont Beijing was defined by exceptional service, from the warm welcome to the attentive door and reception staff, the hospitality was top-notch. The room was large, spacious, and well-equipped, with spectacular daily housekeeping that made our stay extra comfortable. The gym was well-equipped for both strength and cardio workouts, and the hotel also had a nice pool. Location-wise, it was convenient, just a five-minute walk to the metro, making it easy to explore the city. Breakfast, while decent, was a little underwhelming compared to other Fairmont properties. However, dinner at the hotel restaurant was of high quality and reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise. The biggest drawback was the lack of atmosphere. The hotel felt too quiet and didn’t have much charm, especially in the evenings. Additionally, for ALL members, the welcome drink selection was limited to tea and coffee, which fell short of expectations compared to other Accor Luxury properties. If the hotel offered more value for ALL members and the bar had more of a lively vibe, this would truly be an exceptional hotel.

The king-size bed in the hotel room was huge, occupying a spacious 45 square meters, and extremely comfortable. During my second stay, I booked a suite which came with a cozy open-plan living room. Moreover, it offered a stunning view. I will definitely stay here again next time.

Disgusting treatment from an untrustworthy hotel

I made a prepaid package reservation with Expedia including flights from the UK, staying in a Gold Lounge access King Room, for 7 nights. I contacted the hotel to arrange an airport transfer and early check in which was no problem. Today, without any prior warning, the Fairmont Beijing has emailed me to say they are cancelling my booking because they have another function booked. No alternative options given. They have completely destroyed my package booking and I have had to cancel my original flights as well. No offer of compensation, no offer to book me into a hotel within the Accor group as a courtesy. Just cancelled without any customer care. I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. They may cancel your booking without warning, and they will not help, support or advise you in any way. I would recommend better, more reliable 5 star hotels on the area such as The Four Seasons. Having spoken to them today about my experience with the Fairmont they have been truly helpful.

One of the most beautiful hotels! The staff was incredible, spoke English, so helpful and saw to every detail of the trip. Above all was this remarkable woman named Journey who made sure everyone was well taken care of and had a beautiful Beijing experience. In all my travels she stood out with her kindness, helpfulness and knowledge. When I come back to Beijing I am 100% coming back here!! Thank you Journey and the entire Fairmont Beijing staff!! 5stars ++++

Fabulous room, amazing pillows and staff who go above and beyond - especially Journey in the Gold Club, Tim on the front door and Richie who helped book us tickets using hos own money! The gym is great and the service exemplary. If you are staying in Bejing book the Fairmont.
