Luxury hotel in Phnom Penh

We had a five night stay here in March, which was our third stay at the hotel, It is an absolutely outstanding hotel. The staff were excellent, always helpful and considerate. The room we had in the original building was superb, albeit with the smallest standing balcony imaginable! We ate at both restaurants, and each was exceptional. The Le Royal restaurant was very refined and we ate there twice. The pianist and the service made it an unforgettable experience. The 1929 brasserie served breakfast and the food was equally enjoyable. We also went the to Elephant Bar each night for our favourite cocktail. We will certainly return. The location is very convenient, with TukTuks waiting at the entrance to the hotel, If you want a really luxurious hotel for your time in Phnom Penh, this is the place for you.

Fabulous hotel

What a fabulous hotel. The rooms are spacious and have everything in that you need. Very comfortable beds. The staff are absolutely amazing. So friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant for the 2 nights we stayed here. Pisey was just wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was so attentive, helpful, polite and had a lovely sense of humour too. She made sure everything we had was perfect. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend the hotel and eating in the restaurant.

Pleasant hotel in Phnom Penh

Very nice hotel and grounds situated in Phnom Penh. We were only there for a couple of nights so it’s difficult to give the hotel a comprehensive review. The room was very comfortable, I was a bit under the weather so I did not visit any of the restaurants or bars. Staff were really helpful and friendly. The overall feel of the hotel was it was mainly catering for business visitors rather than tourists.

A visitor once or twice a year to Raffles Le Royal, I stayed here for four nights in February. Once again, my visit was a complete pleasure! From warm check-in greetings to the very comfortable guestroom as well as top-notch spa, restaurant, pool and more, the RLR experience is five-star luxury and professionalism without exception. Much credit should go to the super friendly and highly capable staff. In this post I'll acknowledge Chief Concierge Mr. Sam Nheanika. Always helpful on previous occasions, he came to my rescue during this visit when a local bank's ATM "swallowed" my card and would not return it. Owing to few phone calls on my behalf, I was able to recover the lost ATM card within a day or two. Thanks Sam! I will also call out Ms. Oun Vann. Always a delight to see, her ready smile always brightens up the Reception Desk. Raffles Hotel Le Royal is highly recommended.

Let down at the very end

I had originally posted a 5 star review of this hotel. There are a few top end hotels in the City that offer the quality of food and accommodation we had at Raffles. However, when things go wrong it is the response that is important. During the last 2 hours of our stay two issues came up - Firstly I tore my chiffon blouse on a nail protruding from the door frame of our balcony door (my blouse must have billowed in the breeze when I walked out). When notifying them at reception we were told sorry and that was it. No offer of recompense a token gift or voucher for a drink during a future stay. Secondly we had an expensive meal with the wine flight in the hotel, all good, we gave a tip on top of the standard service charge on the bill. On checkout we were charged another service charge on the whole bill - this was calculated on the total which included the service charge/tip when questioning this we again were told sorry and they could offer no explanation. Very disappointing to what was otherwise a lovely stay. I wish I hadn’t purchased the tiffin basket from them now.
