We stayed here twice in our visit to China - at the start and the end. On the second stay we were upgraded to an amazing suite on the top floor, which was an amazing, unexpected surprise - we stayed up till midnight to make the most of it!! Lovely hotel, fantastic location, lovely staff - couldn’t fault it.

Avoid this hotel if are a Platinum with Accor. I am writing this review just after check in and am currently at the hotel. This hotel has zero elite recognition. No welcome note or welcome amenity in the room. I was just handed a one page printout (refer attached pic) and sent to my room. No offer to send luggage to the room too. There are no upgrades offered, just a dated cramped room on higher floor (which was supposedly an upgrade) Avoid unless you absolutely want the location which is nice.

We stayed for four days starting from March 11, 2025, to commemorate her special 60th birthday. I had emailed the hotel in advance just to confirm our reservation and to mention that it was her milestone birthday — I never expected they would prepare such a thoughtful and beautiful event! Thanks to the surprise, my mother was overjoyed and truly touched. Also, I was having muscle pain one night(I think it was 11th night) and needed some medicine delivered. The front desk and concierge staff were incredibly helpful and considerate, making sure I received the right medication through late-night delivery. I really want to express my sincere gratitude to them — please let them know how much I appreciated their care.

Have always stayed at Swissotel Grand Shanghai during all my business trips for the past few years. Location is great, service staff are polite and helpful. The housekeeping staff keep the room clean and restocked every day. Definitely recommend.

Horrible experience! I stayed in this Swissotel 1.29-2.10 during Chinese New Year Holidays. Duty manager Molly cancelled my booking 5 times 2.10 10pm, refusing to renew my room key nd keeping RMB 1000 cash at front desk, demanding me to pay more money to her saying although the online price is RMB 769 at that time, it is not enough for me to get back to my own belongings, even the RMB1000 is not enough, I must give her the 1000 and pay 1140 more. Accor China, Shanghai police and Cultre and Tourism office interfered didn't help. Till today after one week i am still not able to get back my luggages valued about RMB 70,000-80,000. Hotel said they're locked in a storage but refused to provide any photos and has driven away delivery twice. They harassed me and my family on holidays and weekends by phone and by WeChat.
