Hotel is located in Jing’an very close to exit 3. We arrived early and were allowed to check in at 9am which was great. Some staff speak English well others are totally hopeless so it will really depend on who you get when you arrive at reception. Housekeeping aims to please - room has a Nespresso machine and an extensive selection of teas. Water bottles are provided free of charge and more can be requested from housekeeping if require. Please note Mini bar items are not free. Very comfy bath towels and very sizeable bathroom. Bed is comfortable and large. Our view was towards Pudong. Breakfast was included in our rate and was very extensive with local Shanghainese dishes included like noodles, porridge, buns and vegetables. There’s also an excellent bread, cold cuts and egg station. The coffee is not great at the breakfast bar, use your Nespresso capsules instead. The wellness on Level 5 is quite good with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi , swimming pool and gym. If you need to freshen up after check out you can request for access. Highly recommend for the area and the experience we had.

Stayed for a total of 5 nights from the 25 to 30 December. What I liked about the hotel ? The hotel’s standout feature is its excellent location, offering exceptional convenience and accessibility. It is situated close to subway lines 2, 7, and 14, making it easy to get around the city, and is set in a very central area with a wide variety of good food options nearby. The surrounding neighborhood is also home to luxury shopping malls, with West Nanjing Road being a particularly upscale and prestigious retail district. During the festive season, the busy Christmas markets in the area add a lively atmosphere, and JuLULU pub street is just a 10-minute walk away, providing brilliant dining and nightlife options What I did not liked about the hotel ? The hotel did not meet five-star expectations in several areas, particularly service and facilities. The front desk and concierge felt cold, transactional, and unhelpful when we asked questions, giving an overall impression of impatience rather than hospitality. This was especially evident on our arrival on December 25, when there was no concierge available to assist us with multiple bags, which is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard, especially under the Accor brand. The physical spaces also disappointed: while the lobby is large, the layout is poor, with very limited seating or waiting areas for guests, and the hotel feels dated, with many underused spaces in need of refurbishment. In addition, we chose not to dine at the Takegawa Japanese restaurant due to a strong cigarette smell, which created an unpleasant dining environment regardless of the quality of the food.
