Home Away from Home with a Better View and Room Service!

We visit our 2 daughters and niece in the Bay area often and so appreciate both the location and amenities of this gorgeous historic hotel. The suites offer plenty of space to host the girls (and their friends) as they all live in tiny places! We enjoyed beautiful private breakfasts in our spacious room w/ extremely attentive and friendly room service! The food was delicious, coffee abundant, and setting glorious! We've been in several suites now but the Golden Gate View suite is AMAZING (located in the tower). We did a light dinner a couple of days also which was also lovely. Can't wait to return!

Garbage

Rooms are right above the garbage area, which holds all the trash from all the bars, ice cream shops, restaurants-- all the daily trash from the entire Ghirardelli Square. In early mornings well before 9am, bottles are loudly broken and thrown into a vehicle next to the garbage dump area. The glass breaking and throwing also happens in the late evenings, sometimes well after midnight. Finally, and Loudly, garbage trucks come early, 2 or 3 am.

We always love staying at this property. Service, location and residence style setup, make it the ideal place to stay with friends and family. This time we were joined by high school friends who we had not spent time with in years. Being able to gather in the comfortable living room or out by the Alcatraz/Bay view terrace fire pits was truly memorable. What adds to the experience is the feeling that you are on the bay but with easy access to North Beach, Russian Hill and Marina neighborhoods. The staff not only remembered us from prior stays but went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and valued.

I can’t say enough about this property. From the moment we were greeted at the front door, to the excellent reception, we felt like we found our forever SF home. Originally I thought it was a wharf hotel and I chose it based on our activities. Now I call this Russian Hill or Ghirardelli Square because unfortunately the wharf has gotten pretty trashy. The location is perfect for any activity. Besides location, the hotel was a hip residence complete with gas cooktop, warming drawer, sub zero fridge drawers. 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 baths, luxury products, etc. We enjoyed having a living room to spend time together in the evenings and my son was able to work in the day. The outside area was beautiful overlooking the Bay. Walking distance to everything or a short WAYMO ride. The area dining was perfect

We loved our stay in a 2 bedroom apartment and wish we’d stayed longer. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we received a lovely gift of wine and flowers for our wedding anniversary which we celebrated during our stay. The hotel was well located to Fisherman’s Wharf, hop on hop off bus, cable cars, Lombard st, Chinatown and North Beach. We enjoyed the completely wine and cheese hour on a Monday afternoon. Highly recommend!
