Arrived, room okay. They forgot towels and bathrobes etc. Shower head falls off shower as support does not tighten. Room fine, bed comfortable. Booked breakfast, big let down here in service, quality of food and available items etc. Downside is we have another 3 to go. Pity we pre-paid, otherwise would cancel this. Really poor, touring Canada and this is the worse. Did complain nicely but they did nothing. Would recommend you try another place .

This was our 3rd time at this beautiful hotel! We decided to treat ourselves and stay in the Fairmont Gold section. It was outstanding! We love the old charm and historic building and we had incredible views of Parliament Hill and the Ottawa river, so that was excellent. We really enjoyed the lounge in the morning for breakfast and having it in the evening before we went out for dinner was spot on. Great service and beautiful rooms and an amazing bed!!

Worst hotel experience in my life. Will never return.

Called the hotel on August 17 to make sure we have connecting rooms because my Mother is 95 and has a walker and needs to be attended to. Regardless of what was mentioned on the website saying we hoped to have rooms close together, my call made it quite certain what we needed and what was assured. Well when we checked in on Saturday August 30 at around 6PM at the Gold check in floor, we were not greeted very well at all. A quite combative person at the check in desk was not what we were hoping for. We were told no connecting rooms and even if there was any available it would have been an extra charge at the time of booking. Well hey , I called way ahead of time and I was assured there would be. We just spent one week at the Hilton in Quebec City (which was awesome by the way) and drove to Ottawa to begin a 3 day 2 gold room stay at this Fairmont Saturday the 30th, and what a welcoming. I never complain much but this deserves it. The other issue was the beds were way to high for my Mother anyway. Safety concern. We ended up talking to a supervisor and that went nowhere. We were told they were fully booked and even if they were not booked, we were told all the bed heights were the same. So we had no choice but to leave. We also had to cancel dinner at Zoes. There were no rooms anywhere in Ottawa, no kidding on the last long weekend of the summer. So we drove home to Sudbury. The woman on the Gold desk should be fired for how she treated myself, my wife and 95 year old Mother. Not everyone thinks Fairmont is the best. Here is hoping my deposit comes in whenever that will be. Not sure how my Mother ended up looking like she reserved these rooms when it was me and my American Express card that did. Just another glitch. I guess Fairmont could care less about the $5000 they lost by screwing us up. Read less

Majestic Stay in the Heart of Ottawa

We recently spent eight nights at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel’s central location is exceptional, with Parliament, the Rideau Canal, and many of the city’s key attractions just a short walk away. The Château itself is stunning, with its majestic, gothic-inspired architecture and elegant interiors that reflect a sense of tradition and history. Our room was spacious and comfortable, providing a very good base for our visit. Service was consistently excellent. Check-in was efficient and welcoming, housekeeping attentive, and the dining experiences within the hotel were of a very high standard. The facilities available added greatly to the convenience and comfort of our stay. There is, however, scope for improvement. The furnishings in our room would benefit from better maintenance, and the air conditioning vents were dust-laden, which was unexpected given the overall quality of the property. Despite this, the Fairmont Château Laurier remains a distinguished hotel that combines history, charm, and a superb location, making it a highly recommended choice for visitors to Ottawa.
